Haha I know what you mean.  We ended up moving our wedding (for other reasons) to be sooner, so now some weddings are after us.  I actually feel more pressure now because they’ll come to our wedding, then we’ll go to theirs and I’ll feel like ours wasn’t “good enough”.  If our wedding was after, we could learn from the previous weddings and make changes accordingly.  Oooh well.  Smile

There…positive thought of the night.

Nope. I actually have two really good friends who both got engaged after me, and are getting married in the next couple months ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m happy for them, it’s not a race ๐Ÿ˜€

@SweetRose2011: I know what you mean. I was like that a few years ago when I saw a bunch of people I graduated with were already married and had kids. This was when I was like 22/23, and Darling Husband & I had already been together 4+ years…I kept wondering when it was going to be my turn. But I’m still glad it happened on our timeline. As much as I wanted it then, I definitely wasn’t ready until now ๐Ÿ™‚

I definitely know what you mean. I got so jealous when a couple girls who were a year younger than me got married last year and few others I graduated with got married too. But I agree it is nice to be able to go to their wedding and pick up some ideas. One friend had a very rushed wedding and it was less than fabulous, a few friends who were in her wedding even told me they hoped my wedding would be better.

I know what you mean. I have been dating my fiance for two years, and one of my friends started dating her husband around the same time. They got engaged and married a year before us. I was so sad! Another friend started dating his fiance about a year after and he is getting married before us. I’m not jealous anymore, because I’m engaged and planning! But before I got my ring… I would get so sad when other people got engaged. Don’t get me wrong, I would go to the weddings and enjoy myself, but I would still be sad for us.

Nah, I really don’t feel jealous at all (not that I’m criticizing you for feeling that way lol). We wanted to have a longer engagement so we would have more time to plan and not stress, so I’m just happy for them.

Not at all. I thought it was funny before I got engaged that people I went to high school with would see me and be completely amazed that I wasn’t married or had any kids.  I was never in a rush to get married, and never felt it was a competition between people in my grade. I was also a year younger then everyone else, but I don’t think that really mattered
