I get migraines often (usually about once a week), but did not have one on my wedding day. The day before my wedding I was hungover (Las Vegas) so I drank a TON of water. That and the wedding day was pretty chill and not that stressful. I did keep excedrin migraine on hand just in case though!

That is great, FLBlonde93! Haha about the fresh, minty hippie but the pain reduction is worth it!

I took migraine nurofen at the first feeling of a migraine and I was fine for the day. Spent six days including my wedding day without a voice tho.

@FLBlonde93:  A lot of over the counter meds and herbal pills are “rebounders”, which means, your migraine will come back full force once the over the counter meds and herbs wear off. My suggestion is to go see a doctor about your migraines. I seen my doctor, he put me on Topamax. I suffered for a year with severe migraines. I’ve been migraine free for a year this November.  There are vessels in your brain that contract that cuts off circulation of blood that cause migraines. Topamax, or meds similar, help blood flow in the brain and stop the vessels from contracting and causing the migraines.  sure, diet and watching what you eat will only work for so long, I’ve done that, but they do come back.

@FLBlonde93:  With me being on Topamax, my doctor requires me to take them at bedtime, so I’m at rest while they work. So it’s always an option.  I wake up fine in the morning and I’m able to get through an entire day without a migraine.

@FLBlonde93:  I get migraines & they suck!!! I would say that we have a LOT of the same triggers too. The year leading up to our wedding was the most stressful time ever! I ended up taking Paxil for 4 months before the wedding and tapered off of it after the honeymoon. I was also having wicked panic attacks that would leave me struggling to breathe and crying like a crazy woman. I ended up getting a prescription for xanax and took it on our wedding day & didn’t have a single problem. It really knocked my stress level down to 0 and made for an amazing day. I also have a RX for immatrex a migraine medication to take upon onset of the migraine. Do you have any RX medication that you can take upon onset of a migraine? Obviously avoiding the migraine at all costs would be best but in case something did pop up…

@FLBlonde93:  I frequently get migranes. Through out the planning process I had several episodes. The night I asked my girls to be my bridesmaids I had a migrane start at dinner from the anxiety! I had to be driven home and was vomiting all night. Can you imagine? Lol. Needless to say, I was very worried about my wedding day. But, I really was against being medicated “just in case”. So the days leading up and morning of I drank a lot of water. And thankfully I did not have a migrane and was able to enjoy the whole day!
