I take it off for cleaning, showering, sleeping, doing dishes…sometimes cooking.  I mostly wear it out.

I take mine off to do dishes, messy cooking, cleaning and showering. Sometimes when I work out too (if I’m using weights so it doesn’t get dented) but I wear it for hot yoga or cardio.

I also take it off to sleep most nights because I use a thick, heavy duty lotion that doesn’t soak in until well after I’ve fallen asleep and I don’t want to leave my ring on my bureau all night.. knowing my dog she’d knock it off and lose it or maybe eat it lol so it sleeps in a ring box in my bathroom.

I work in a hospital and I still wear it there everyday because I’m not a nurse, so I don’t deal with gloves all day.

@Kittie128:  I take it off when I take a shower or doing chores.  My Fiance lives in NYC and whenever I’m in the area, I just turn my ring around in subways or sketchy places.

I take mine off to shower, and put lotion on . . . or while getting a manicure. Cleaning with harsh chemicals. I take it off when working out too – if I forget to take it off, I’ll tie it up in my shoe laces while I do weights.

I haven’t really thought much walking around the city at night with it(living in downtown Philadelphia). I just don’t feel like it’s big enough to attract attention (.72 carats). But I carry a pocket knife with me usually and have considered picking up a small thing of mace. You can never be too safe in the city – ring or no ring Smile

showering, putting on lotion, or if I’m making meatballs, cookies, etc. where I use my hands to mix

I don’t really ever take mine off unless I am doing something particularly sticky like kneeding bread dough or painting. I haven’t found a need to take them off when cleaning becuase I only use natural non-harsh cleaners and I don’t take it off when showering either.

I do have a seperate plain rose gold band that I wear when I am doing things that I should not be wearing a diamond for (like rock climbing or swimming in the ocean) So I guess you could say that is my ‘default’ ring when my real ring is off.

I should, but I don’t. It’s so low profile/maintenance I just forget, it’s like part of my finger!

I haven’t taken mine off except to shower, or when I’ve been cooking with messy stuff and using my hands.  I slept with the ring on my finger the night we got engaged, and I just haven’t felt the need to take it off at night since!

I take my ring off for lots of things. Anytime I craft, do the dishes, make dinner, or do anything major with my hands, it goes into safe keeping. I had an incident where I got my hand stuck in a frezer drawer and popped out one of my stones, so now I’m extremely paranoid.

Additionally, I take my rings off for exercise, as I play roller derby and it’s just a really bad idea.

When walking home alone at night I turn my band around or stick my ring on a thin chain and then hide the chain down my shirt, sweater, or whatever. (There are lots of cute chains made just for this purpose.) Additionally, I’ve worked in some crime-heavy neighborhoods and on those occasions, depending on what I will be doing, I will leave my ring at home. I’m planning on just wearing my band during these occasions after the wedding.

I take mine off when I’m making messy foods (meatballs). And when I’m doing farm work, so I don’t get dirt or whatever in it or accidently hit it on something. I also don’t sleep with it on because my fingers swell so much while I’m sleeping. I also won’t wear it jetskiing because I’m terrified of losing it. I really don’t like taking it off at all though!

I never take my rings off. I just have my engagement ring right now (vintage from 1920s), but ever since I got it it has been on this little finger- hey I waited 10 years for Fiance to give me this ring. I also have a diamond promise ring that I got years ago and also very rarely take it off (sometimes when I am cooking with messy foods- like breading chicken or making bread- if I remember). I have tiny fingers, size 4.25, so I get a little paranoid when its really cold bc my ring will spin around and once slid off into my lap- so I am getting my wedding band a lil smaller to keep them both locked in place. I also have a blue diamond necklace, Fiance gave me on our 3rd anniversary I never take off (its my something blue for the wedding!) I am more likely to lose my jewelry if I take them off or my cat or 4 year old will find them good playthings.

Sad to say mine is off more than on 🙁

I have no choice…I don’t want to damage it while doing things like yard work.etc but we are not allowed to wear any jewelry at work since it could damage product. I do put it on whenever I go out though and never want to take it off!
