I take mine off for cleaning, showering, putting on lotion, and anything that could gunk it up. I am pretty paranoid, so I try to think ahead about anything that could mess them up. I don’t take them off to sleep, and I’ve never had a problem. I always wear my rings out unless I’m doing something that could mess them up (like cleaning at work). If you don’t wear them out, I don’t see the point of having them (IMO). I’m just wearing a stand-in ring now because I lost mine, but I really want a ring holder necklace before I get my new one to avoid losing it again.

I only take mine off to clean it. When I first got it, I took it off all of the time because I was paranoid of it getting makeup, soap, food, dust, you name it on it. But, my FI’s uncle is a jeweler and when he found out he told me that I should never take it off for two reasons other than cleaning 1) you are more likely to lose it or have it stolen and 2) if your insurance company finds out that you take off your ring they can raise your rates or drop you due to reason #1. He said sometimes insurance companies call and ask about your ring and whether or not you take it off- if you don’t want to be dropped or have your rates raised, say No!

I only take mine off when cleaning my house and at night before I go to bed.

I take mine off if I’m doing any serious cleaning (toilets, floors etc…) or cooking. If I am in a public place where I don’t want anyone to see it, I flip it around so the center stone is on the inside facing my palm.
