I don’t think it is required, but I have already planned to send thank yous to each vendor after the wedding. The photographer will will theirs after we have received all of our photos, but the other ones will get them when I send them to the guests.

I’m planning to send them to our officiant, the owner of the restaurant where we had our rehearsal dinner (he was insanely helpful!), and our coordinator at the reception hall who just went above and beyond.

I’ve thanked our DJ and photographer via email but don’t plan to send them actual thank you notes.

So basically – the vendors who went above and beyond get are getting an actual note while the vendors who did their job but nothing extremely out of the ordinary got thank you emails instead.

I second what FutureKMM stated. If they do a fantastic job I would send a thank you.

I didn’t. If they did a great job, I tell them so. If they do a really great job I will post a positive review. I PAID for their services and see no reason to give them a thank you card.

I’m like FutureKMM: Everyone will get a thank-you of some sort, but those who I felt like did a great job or really did a lot to make the day special (I LOVE my hair&makeup guy already, for example) will probably get an old-fashioned note.

Every single vendor (except the photographers) have asked for pictures concerning their product.  So I’m going to make up nice thank you cards for each of them with the pictures and send it off to them.  I do plan on making one for the photographers as well. 😉

I am a firm believer in thank you notes and cards for everything.  I love getting thank you cards from people I have done a good job for, it is something that can be displayed in an office or store.  If they did a good job for you, take 5 minutes and write them a quick note and let them know.  It’s the little niceties that could really make someones day.
