Typcially I take 1 or 2 trips for 1-2 weeks each every winter without him.  And a shorter getaway in the summer.  If I had friends to travel with it would be more frequent.

Currently on vacation without Darling Husband right now! I’m on a week long ski vaca with family while he’s unfortunately stuck at home with a work deadline.

but he’s planning a 3-4 week trip with a childhood buddy of his later this year that I’m not joining (may meet them for a weekend somewhere though) so I don’t feel too guilty about it 😀 Plus while he loves the mountains he’s not  a big downhill skier so it saves me from keeping him company doing cross-country when there’s so much powder to enjoy on the slopes!!

Ideal is definitely that we travel together and we do trips quite a lot (even just weekend ones) but our work schedules don’t always match up. We’re not going to stop the other (or ourselves) from a fab trip because of that though!!

However we are super independent people so its the norm for us. While it boggles my mind that some couples almost never do nights away from each other, I realise each couple has to do what works for them.

Not married for a few more months but I have a few days in the caribbean planned with my my mom and sister. I’ve also gone to visit relatives without him. One trip was for nearly two weeks since my relatives live in another continent.

I travel a fair bit for work so try not to spend much more time apart than that, but we have the occasional weekend trip apart. And some day I’m sure I’ll have to go to my home country without him.

We definitely travel alone. But we live very independent lives, so we enjoy having time to ourselves. We still love each other very much and enjoy our time together! We just enjoy time apart too 😄

Yep, we both do weekends away! I’ve gone on 2 sun holidays without him for a week cause he hates lying in the sun & I love it so I go away with friends.

I don’t go on trips alone, but I definitely take girls trips without my husband! I have a friend who goes on one trip each year alone. I’ve always admired that but I do love traveling with Darling Husband so I don’t think I’d ever travel alone. But I love girls trips!

I go on about 3-4 short girls trips/ weekend getaways a year with friends but major vacations I go on with Fiance. He has to travel for work a fair amount by himself, so it balances out.

Yes! I think this is totally normal and even good for a marriage. So much you can talk about when you get back from your trip!

Yep! I once volunteered in another country for 3 months without him. That was the longest we were apart and I missed him like crazy but I’d totally do it again. I think it’s a good thing to be able to do things apart. Co-dependency is not healthy

No, and I don’t think I ever would. But I don’t think there’s anything wrong with spouses who like to sometimes travel seperately, especially if one likes to travel and the other doesn’t!

Yep, once or twice a year on average. Usually just for a couple nights but could be a week plus. There are places I want to visit that he isn’t interested in, and I get way more time off work than he does, so it makes sense, plus a girl’s holiday just has a different vibe.

Maybe once or twice a year.   Just for weekends or a night.
