Hi Bees,
This is just a random post for the sake of interest. Posted in the 20 something section as I thought it might be more relevant but everyone is free to give an opinion!
My SO and I go out clubbing quite regularly just the two of us. I really didn’t think this was a big deal. But when other friends learn of this their eyes go big and they seem to think it’s really unusual!
We have a blast when it’s just us two! I love it when it’s just us two dancing the night away and paying attention to just each other. I find it more fun than going out clubbing with my girl-friends if I am honest.
I am posting to see if this is really an unusual thing. Do you go out clubbing just with your SO and yourself? I have added a poll, who doesn’t love polls?
I am from the UK if that makes any difference.

We do it all the time! Not necessarily clubbing, but we’ll go to a bar just the two of us. We always have a blast and manage to meet some interesting people 🙂

I hate clubs, I don’t like loud music and crowds. But we do go out to bars on occasion just the two of us, it’s always very enjoyable, especially during the week when you can get to know the regulars.

peoniesbaby: We go out to the bars and clubs pretty often, but usually with other friends. We’ve gone out, just the two of us, before a few times but he doesn’t like to dance very much and I love to dance! When we go out with friends or another couple, I can dance and he can play pool or hang. We have a good time no matter what, though.
I also don’t like being alone if he goes to the bar or bathroom or something though. It’s not a terribly safe place here and I’ve gotten pushed, pinched, and groped by guys WHILE HOLDING DH’s HAND, so I really don’t like being by myself downtown. I would never, ever think about walking down the street by myself. There is strength in numbers.
Obviously I can go to the bathroom and bar by myself, but I just worry when the only person I am with/know is gone for a period of time.

Used to. Then we both worked in a nightclub and it lost its appeal.

I didn’t vote since I don’t see an option I agree with. I’m in my early 30’s but did date my husband as early as 25. We did and still do go to pub style bars just the two of us but never clubbing. We have gone clubbing with a group of friends. We never went just the two of us and I don’t know of any friends who have either.

We’re in our 30s and frequently go to shows together, not necessarily clubbing, but sometimes we do end up at a club to see a particular dj play. We also go to a few music festivals a year, sometimes just the two of us, sometimes with friends.

I’m 35 and DH is 39 we go to bars a lot just together. We drink, play darts, golden tee, pool, dance, and just have a great time together. He’s my favorite person to be with!

peoniesbaby: Not clubbing but we both love dancing and music so we go to concerts a lot!! It’s so much fun and edm nights or dj sessions are the best. Living in nyc definitely has its perks when it comes to the music scene!

In my 40s now. And typically he doesn’t care for clubs. We’ve only probably went out to one no more than 3 times. He’s more a resturant, concert and movie type.
Funny I’m going out this friday to dance spot with some girlfriends.

I haven’t gone clubbing since high school at the under 21 places, where we used to just sneak in alcohol haha although honestly I would love to go back with my girlfriends. DH is a total awkward white guy when he dances so I don’t think he’d enjoy it or want to go with me (and I don’t think I’d want to be seen with him dancing haha)

I think I prefer it with my girl friends, but Fiance and I do go sometimes. I think it just depends on my mood because I don’t usually care for clubbing.

My Fiance and I used to go out dancing and to clubs lots when we started dating at 22 and 28 and we always had a blast together! Since then we have changed our lifestyle to be healthier, so we go out and drink less at 25 and 31. We still love shows though.
