I’m kind of confused about who is supposed to go to the gift opening. A few cousins of mine showed up for the reception and the gift opening with all of their children, but they didn’t even give us so much as a card. I didn’t expect a gift from them, but a card would have been thoughtful. They pretty much filled up their bellies and their children’s bellies and then left.
I kind of thought the purpose of going to the gift opening was to see the bride and groom open your gift. So if you didn’t give a gift/card, should you be there?
It feels like they just used us to get some free meals and free babysitting, since they let their kids run wild wherever they go and think the host should have to take care of them. These are the same cousins that wouldn’t rsvp until we called them, and when I was walking down the aisle during the ceremony their children were loose running around down the aisle in front of me.
