whiteheadtobe :  I feel like there’s a lot of misinformation out there and everyone should just love the ring they have. 🙂

I have a tanzanite. I knew I never wanted a diamond. I wanted something a bit more unusual.  I know that de beers have been telling everyone they have to have diamonds for decades now, and I’ve never been one for having what I’m supposed to. I prefer to be different and stand out from the crowd.

I do like diamonds, I inherited  my grandmothers engagement ring and the sparkle is mesmerising, but it’s just not me.

I have a sapphire with diamonds.  I wanted color for my center stone with very white accent stones.  I am odd because I would never want a moissanite OR a diamond as an engagement ring because I just love color too darn much!  I would want them as a RHR if that makes sense 🤣

I have a blue Zircon. I love the color and it’s Dh’s birthstone as well.

Diamond, if not a diamond I would have been happy with a gem stone.  Moissanites are not for me.

.79ct diamond. I switched to a moissanite briefly, but didn’t love the way it looked after about a month of having it in my setting, so I had my diamond put back in.

Mine is a cluster of diamonds! I pushed for moissy but he said the jewelry lady talked him out of it haha! I just wanted to save money but I love my ring because he picked it and it was a huge surprise!

harlequinade :  The diamond mining in Canada is in a very enviornmental sensitive area that is valued by the Natives. Gold exploration and mining are also unethical especially in the Latin American areas because of the laws there. The mining of gld in particular have made life very difficult for the farmers in Guyana. There is a documentary on it.

odaile1 :  I absolutely believe that is true. I also believe most rings are made with gold (Diamond, Moissanite, or Sapphire), so all are environmentally bad when made with gold settings.

sunburn :  Which is one of the reasons (aside from the general better quality stones) my tanzanite is from a Jeweller which sources block D tanzanites rather than from TanzaniteOnes Block C mines.

I have a diamond, but wasn’t opposed to moissanite for an engagement stone. My fiance however is very traditional and rejected the idea of a non-diamond ring for our engagement. I do have a moissanite earring set and absolutely love it and wear it a lot.
