I used it a lot when DD was little. I definitely don’t think it was a waste, especially since it can be used again after we have another child. Ours isn’t bad looking, and it’s comfortable, so I can see keeping it for a pretty long time.

I was given a glider and used it for a few months to pump. I didn’t use it otherwise and have since theN passed it on

I still use mine and my DS is two! Of course I don’t use is as much but it’s nice to have a nice place to sit when your LO is crying in the middle of the night. I used it to BF when my son was a baby too. I will be using it again for my second.

Yes! I didn’t at first (just a wooden rocking chair) and it wasn’t a huge deal because DD slept in a bassinet in our room and I didn’t get out of bed to feed her. Once she went into her own room and I got up for night feedings, I hated the rocking chair. I came across a glider at a consignment sale and it was one of my best and most useful purchases. Definitely recommended!

SoontobeMrs0831: I wasn’t planning on getting one, but when I was shopping for a crib I found this amazinggggg rocker-glider. Its more compact, takes up less room than your traditional glider. I almost fell asleep in the store thats how comfy it was. I didn’t get the ottoman though. Its also great for me for my back bc it gives a lot of support.

Baby is not here yet, but I plan to use it to feed baby, help baby go to sleep, or just to soothe and spend time with baby.

Baby isn’t here yet for me either, but I bought a glider used on a local facebook tagsale site. I’m looking forward to using it, I remember when my niece was young it was a nice way to soothe hr and help her go to sleep. I plan to use it for feedings, etc as well. I had a hard time justifying some of the prices I was seeing for gliders at places like Pottery Barn Kids… I’m happy to have gotten mine used. It’s pretty simple like the one Daizy914 posted but I think it will work out just fine! 🙂

We bought one, baby is due in Sept. I knew I wanted some kind of chair in the room.. and a glider was what I had always thought was “supposed” to go in a nursery lol, so that’s what we got. I found a nice one (looks just like the one in Daizy’s picture) on Amazon for $200.. I didn’t think it was a bad price. If you look at places like Babies R Us they jack up the prices!

I got one and hardly ever used it. I prefered to nurse in bed or on the couch (or wherever I was already sitting) instead of having to get up to nurse somewhere different. DS was very good natured and didn’t need to be rocked to sleep so I didn’t see a need.

If I had a baby who was more high maintenance, I think I would have used it more.

I don’t have one because I tandem nurse and I never found one that was wide enough to fit my nursing pillow (brestfriend twin).

we bought a cheap one off amazon. i think it was under $150? most that we saw in the stores were like $500+. we got a lot of use out of it and are currently planning on moving it to our second nursery. it’s good for reading time, nursing, just hanging out, etc.

I’m due in Sept and got one used for $80. I’ve found that I’m using it even before baby gets here! It’s nice to have a comfy place to sit in the nursery.

Every time I’ve gone baby shoppong for someone else, I would stop and sit in the gliders and dream of the day I was pregnant and could justify getting one…. Lol. I don’t have one yet but definitely will be getting one and I imagine I will use it well after It’s no longer “needed” for baby things. They are just so nice and comfy!

I have one and love it. I never used it for nursing or pumping, I always just did that in bed. But once she was in her room and we started a bedtime routine that included reading stories and some songs I used it every night. I would just gently rock in it while reading to her and she would calm down and bed ready for bed. The only reason it isn’t in her room anymore is because she started climbing it and almost knocked it over into the window.

SoontobeMrs0831: My son will be a year old next week and I still use the glider in our bedroom. I also have one in my son bedroom too. My son loves it. It is so worth the money.
