SoontobeMrs0831:  I loved my glider. It was the first piece of nursery furniture we bought and the only one we still own (almost 20 years later!) It’s now my son’s favorite spot. I love that surly teenage him still feels comfort in the chair that snuggly baby him found comfort in the day we brought him home from the hospital. It’s so special to me that when my niece announced she was pregnant, I immediately called dibs on buying her glider. 🙂

SoontobeMrs0831:  We just have a Lazy Boy in the nursery, it’s leather. My son is 9 months and we still use it all the time, not just for rocking but for nursing and reading books and snuggling.

I’m using my husbands old recliner, just purchased a nice slipcover for it!  This way it can be used outside of the nursery when we’re done with it.

Our baby isn’t here yet but we did buy a nice comfy upholstered glider and ottoman.

We have a two story house, so if I don’t want to nurse in bed that’s really the only other option that is upstairs. If we had a ranch style home I’d probably just go to the couch in the living room though.

We have a small apartment and wanted to be able to move whatever rocking chair we got for the nursery into the living room if we needed extra seating. We wound up going with a Poang rocker from Ikea, and I swear it’s as comfortable as any glider I’ve ever sat in…plus it was under $200.

I wanted one I could sit in to test out first. People I know with kids recommended getting a comfy chair because they said they spent a lot of time in it. We ended up going with a Shermag glider and ottoman from BRU. It was in the mid range of price and pretty comfy. We still need to put it together and test it out at home.

I also have my eye on one on Amazon.  To me they look like sturdy, really comfortable rocking chairs (I weirdly have always been nervous is real rocking chairs, never comfortable leaning all the way back.)  I plan to get one or something similar to keep for a long time for bedtime stories etc.
