I love the TV in our bedroom! We are big TV and movie buffs–we don’t just watch, we discuss and dissect–so we always have box sets of TV seasons that we’re working on. Typically we’ll watch an episode right before bed, then go into our critical analysis (ha), then cuddle and fall asleep. If it’s your thing, it can be really relaxing and romantic 🙂

Yes we have one. No, we don’t use it. Like…basically ever. I think it’s been turned on and watched less than a dozen times in over a year. Maybe even half a dozen. Pretty much if we’re fighting & I go to the bedroom to be alone or if I’m laying with my SO while she falls asleep but I’m not going to sleep

@cooperlove: I do and I love it. I need it to fall asleep and it’s nice to have when your sick.

On the one hand I like the idea of keeping our bedroom television free. I think it adds a lot more quality to the time we spend in their together. On the other hand, we also only have one TV right now and we don’t know if we’re going to get a 2nd one in the future. I’m not sure where else we’d put it if not in our bedroom. Clearly we’d have a TV in the den/family room area (wherever the hang out room is in the house), but where else does one go in the house if not in a bedroom? I don’t really love the idea of having one in the kitchen.
Also, when I’m sick I usually watch TV on my computer. I have some sites where I can watch shows and I also use HBO Go and Netflix.

When Fiance was single he had this tiny TV in his room that he would watch at night. When we moved in to our current house the TV came with us. It’s on the dresser in the bedroom but it’s not hooked up to the cable and we haven’t even turned it on once in the 2+ years that we’ve lived here. Actually, now that I think about it I wonder why we haven’t gotten rid of it yet – it’s taking up valuable dresser-top space!

We don’t have a TV. But, we are definitely guilty of watching TV on our computers in bed.

We used to have a TV in our bedroom for almost 2 years, but recently decided when we moved into our condo that we wouldnt. Fiance was adamant against not putting our tv there. We have 1 in the living room, and another just stored away with no use for it at the moment. Both are 58″.

@cooperlove: We have one!! I never watch it when Fiance is out of town for work but he uses it quite a bit when he is home. He likes to cuddle up beside me with the TV on low as I fall asleep. It dosent bother me at all. TV’s are not too expensive these days…I would just get a small one if I were you. It is nice to have in there.

I want one. DH doesn’t, he’s the type where he lays down and 5 min later he’s asleep. I like to cuddle up in bed and watch a movie.
We’re waiting to move to our house, and there’s so much we need to buy that would take priority over a bedroom tv, so I have lots of time to see if I can convince him. If not, there’s always laptops. That’s what we do currently.

Nope, but then neither of watch TV, so our statistic is probably useless lol.

@cooperlove: We do, although at the moment we don’t have cable hooked up to it. If we didn’t live in my parent’s house, I would insist that the TV be in another room. To me, a bedroom should be for nookie, sleep, and the occasional lazy day.

No way! Neither of us has one, and we won’t when we live together. Neither of us is really a fan of tv in general. We prefer talking to each other or puzzles or something a little less mind numbing.

Same here! We have one, but it never ever gets used. Complete waste of money.

We do but it hasn’t been turned on in months. The only reason it’s there is because it was practically brand new when I moved in with my now husband and I didn’t want to get rid of it. I don’t think we would’ve purchased one fior our room if I didn’t already own it.

We do and it gets pretty regular use. We’ll watch an episode of something on Netflix (currently making our way through Stargate SG-1) as we’re winding down. Reading doesn’t put his mind to rest like it does me so he won’t read before bed.
I know some people say it takes away from intimacy in the bedroom but I don;t know what’s more intimate than just curling up on your SO’s chest (or your prefered cuddle position) and just relaxing. Plus when one of us falls asleep we don;t have to drag our butts to the bedroom, the other just shuts things down and tucks the sleeping one in.
