I wish we didn’t at times but we do. FH cannot sleep without it being on. I can’t sleep with it on. Luckily he falls asleep really quickly and I usually turn it off as soon as I hear the first snore. But nights like last night, he couldn’t sleep and it was on til about 4am, thankfully I didn’t have to work today but still. At times it is nice cause we can cuddle in bed and watch something. But usually I don’t need it or want it in there.

We have one but we almost never use it. It was fine when we were in our apt in CT but now that we’re in our tiny Boston apartment we’re sort of regretting the space it takes up.

When i lived on my own, I had one. I also had one when I lived with my ex.
With my Fiance we chose not to have one. We generally spend time talking and cuddling before going to sleep. If we really really want to watch something we get the I-pad out or portable dvd player.
We won’t be gettign one in the future either. We feel that it takes away from the relationship.

Nope – We’ve had one before and it pretty much NEVER got used. So what’s the point in paying every month for another cable box?

I only had a tv in my room back when I used to have roommates and I wanted my own private place to relax. now if I want to watch something in bed, I watch it on my iphone. but that’s rare.

I love having a tv in the bedroom. We’re both tv addicts. Mostly, it’s used in the daytime when I’m folding clothes or doing bedroom chores. We also use it when we want to nap; for some reason, it’s easier for both of us to fall asleep to tv in the day. Sometimes at night we’ll watch movies or something, but usually night tv is in the living room.

Definitely…we always watch a show in there before we sleep, and when he is watching something I don’t like downstairs I am still entertained with my own shows.

No! It’s no recommended to have a TV in the bedroom because our brain associated televisions with being awake and active.

@cooperlove: I once read that couples who have a TV in their bedroom have sex 40% less than those that don’t. Not sure I agree or where that stat came from… We have one, and we watch movies at night mostly. It’s more comfortable to cuddle in bed than our couch.

@cooperlove: We do, it’s not on every day, or even for weeks sometimes. But we like to cuddle up and watch a movie in bed sometimes, or just want to relax in bed and watch a tv show instead of sitting on the couch. It’s nice to have while doing chores up there, or folding laundry. But yeah its not a consistent thing for us.

We do, but it isn’t used much. When we moved in together, we had a total of 3 nice flat screen tvs. In a 2 bedroom house. So we put one in the living room, one in the office/second bedroom (that has yet to be turned on since we moved in a year ago), and one in the master. The one in our bedroom is the only one my bluray player works with, so we occasionally watch Blu-Rays in there, or it has netflix too, but isn’t hooked up to cable. It’s nice to have if you’re sick in bed, or for some reason we don’t want to watch the same thing (or he wants to play video games and I get sick of them!), but it really only gets turned on once a month at the very most!

No, the bedroom is our place and our time. We discussed this issue before we moved in together. He does have a radio in our bedroom and listens to the news briefly in the morning. At first the radio bothered me but now I sleep through it! 😉

@MsJ2theZ: It used to bug the crap out of me but he really can’t sleep without it. If there is no tv, he’ll spend half the night talking to me. So I’d rather have it on for an hour til he falls asleep then to have him chat my ear off. I love the man to death but sometimes it is just like whoa. Haha. I have no idea how he’ll handle the honeymoon. We rented a cabin and there is no tv in it. Poor guy. Haha

We do, For sick days (LAZY) and at night. I used to only be able to sleep with the tv on, and Fiance is that way too, but I’be kinda gone out of that phase, I like it to be pitch dark and quiet… but we don’t have many issues with that as he usually turns it off within 15 min of us going to bed.
