I had one. But I didn’t do it with the Knot. Dunno why, but I didn’t like them.

Yep, we had a website. We hosted it on our own domain so that we could have complete control over the site. Security was a huge issue for us so not only was it password protected, but it also required a username in order to gain access. We had no interest in having an open site that anyone could see.

Do you realize that you’re publicizing all of your personal info by posting these? I looked at both and so far I’ve seen full names, email addresses, exact locations of your wedding festivities, etc. It’s not the safest thing to have out in the open for anyone to access. Just sayin’.

I have one with mywedding. I like it and it’s free and there forever. Only 2 things I don’t like: it’s not very personalizable and you can’t add more then 1 picture per page.

I’m thinking about setting one up with wedding window. I really love their websites

@X0JLYNN03: As long as you’re cool with it then, ok. Just thought I’d post this, though.

I didn’t set one up.  I figured that all the relevant info was already in the invitation, and I preferred to use the old fashioned RSVP card!  I felt funny writing up blurbs about “how we met” and describing the wedding party.  I’m not usually interested in that stuff when it comes to other people’s weddings.

Basically, it seemed like an extra, unnecessary project so I didn’t bother.

@X0JLYNN03:  “Joe finally asked Jenn to marry him! After 5 long years…”  HAHAHAHAA  Same thing for me.  Too funny!

Thanks for posting, I love getting ideas from other people’s websites!

Ours is on The Knot, too (but password restricted for a variety of reasons). I’ve actually been really happy with it. We did the free version but customized a LOT. Whenever I go in to make a change I’m shocked at the number of hits we’ve had (there’s a counter on the manager page). I hope people find it helpful.

ETA: It made sense for us because our wedding is on Martha’s Vineyard and for guests who have never been to the island (that would be about half our guests) figuring out transit options can be a little complicated.

I made mine on http://www.weddingwire.com. It was so much fun to make and I love that you don’t have to put last names and can password protect it (my Fiance is a private person so this made him happy). Plus, it’s free!

I actually found it through an earlier WB thread. It was one of my first introductions to this forum. Thanks, bees! πŸ™‚
