When I joined Weddingbee about four years ago, I rarely saw anyone post a ring made of yellow gold. Now I am seen a ton of them.
I’m just wondering how many Bees have yellow gold, as compared to a white metal.
Please post pictures, since we all love ring porn, and share why you select the color metal you chose.

Here’s mine. It’s white gold. When we picked my rings, white metals were the most popular. But even if they hadn’t been, I would have chosen white gold or platinum, because my mom’s rings were white gold and I always loved her set.

I have had both. Back when Darling Husband and I got engaged, yellow gold was the most common and popular. So my first ERing was yellow gold.
I always wanted white metal, though, for the same reason you listed: my mom’s set is white gold, so that has always been my ideal. Plus, white metals look better on me.
My current set is platinum and white gold. It’s a dream come true, and I love it!!

yellow owner here! Before I really started looking at rings I was going with white gold because that’s all I ever really saw on people. Once I started stalking rings and trying them on I felt that yellow gold complimented my skin tone better and felt more ‘me’.

Yellow gold here. My Fiance picked it because he’s always felt like yellow gold was timeless. I like that it doesn’t have the upkeep that white gold has

Mine is white gold, but I absolutely love yellow gold. Which is odd because I used to despise it. Weird how you can change!

CherrytoBee: I have to agree. It looks perfect on your hand! Gorgeous!
a_day_at_the_fair: Your stone is so sparkly! I love it!
longtimemrs: I had yellow gold for my previous marriage, but I never loved it. It’s beautiful, and I still have it, but it was never my ideal. I love the set I have now.
allyfally: You may be someone who is more in tune with trends. I think it’s easier for people like that to re-evaluate and change their opinions on what they like and don’t like. Or…it could be like me and brussle sprouts…hated them all my life, until I tried them again. Now I love them. LOL

Loribeth: I had the same experience with my first ERing. I’m sentimental about it, but never loved it like I love my current set. Yours is super gorgeous, by the way! I love how your wedding bands work with your ERing. I bet your set sparkles like crazy!

I have always preferred white metals on me, so my ring is white gold.
I actually quite like the warmth that develops on white gold when the rhodium wears off, so I probably won’t re-dip my set very often. Probably redip the Engagement Ring right before the wedding so that the two bands will match and then we shall see 🙂

My ordinal set was white gold and when I replaced it I went to yellow gold and I am so happy that I did.

I have a mix of yellow & white gold. My ering is mainly brushed yellow gold, with a polished white gold bezel setting. My wedding band will be polished white gold.

Yellow gold here! I have always prefered yellow gold, I find white on my skin too harsh and cold. I love the warmth of yellow gold. Thankfully it turns out I’m allergc to white gold so we exchanged the original ring my Fiance came me for one in yellow.

I wanted Yellow 1) because that is the color of gold lol 2) it looks best with my skin and 3) its more “rich” looking by that I mean deep/warm

Loribeth: A lot of people have Rose gold. Did you mean for Rose gold to fall under yellow or other? I would probably give it its own option.
My original e-ring was YG and my anniversary ring is Palladium.

I love my yellow gold e-ring! Yellow gold is really all I wear, so Fiance knew that was what I’d want my ring to be.
