Yeah I have this issue, I don’t even eat until atleast after 10 am and even then it hurts.  I have IBS so that’s pretty much why I am like that.  From what I know Anxiety is linked to IBS.  You could also have an esophageal spasm or making too much acid.

I have gastritis, on the verge of becoming a peptic ulcer so I feel you on the easily upset stomach.  Although my symptoms have lessened over the past couple of years (coincidentally, when I started dating my Fiance.  Stress was a big instigator of my attacks and I was in a string of bad relationships prior to starting to date him), they can still pop up when I’ve been eating badly (lots of grease or spicy foods) or have been drinking (anything over 2 glasses of wine and I’m guaranteed to spend the night in the bathroom, wishing for death.)  I take prescription prilosec for it, but haven’t had to take any for quite a long time.  One of the biggest signs that I’m about to have an attack is completely losing my appetite, despite having gone hours without eating.

Go to your doctor and get checked out.

I am always extremely sick to my stomach in the mornings.  There have been several times I have wondered if I am expecting, haha, but it has been going on since I was a kid.  I have no idea what causes it.  It usually goes away after I eat something.

You may have Leaky Gut Syndrome (sounds grosser than it is).  If you change your diet for a while and let your digestive tract heal, it should get better.  Check out http://www.gapsdiet.com.

(I’ve been on this diet since April and can feel the difference).  You basically cut out all wheat products, processed sugar (replace w/honey or stevia), soy, and dairy.  Oh, and you end up losing a lot of weight while your body is cleansing itself of all the toxins that have been storing up as fat (I have lost over 40 lbs. and didn’t even realize I was carrying all of that).

The diet is a bit annoying, but you get used to it and lose urges for carbs and bad foods and your upset tummy will thank you for it.

Oh, and take probiotics to promote healthy gut flora.

This is really odd, but if I eat eggs w/in one hour of waking up w/o drinking a tall glass of water or any liquid before hand, I get sick to my stomach and alwasy feel like I’m going to vomit.

I have no idea why it is like this….but its been this way for years.

Yeah, I hear you. Happens to me all the time when I have anxiety. If I’m anxious I just can’t eat. If its bad enough (the anxiety), if I try to eat, I will automatically throw up, no matter what I’m eating.

Do you take anything for anxiety?

When I wake up with anxiety and upset stomach what helps me (besides an Rx), is to take a bit of a longer shower and try to do some deep breathing to calm myself, then have a cup of peppermint or ginger tea. Both peppermint and ginger help to calm upset stomachs. Then I’ll have some bland crackers (Saltines are great), and usually I’m ok after that. Sometimes I’ll also have some plain chicken broth too.

@AnnieAAA:  could be your gall bladder.  That’s what processes fats and sometimes it can’t handle something like eggs in the morning.

I ALWAYS feel like puking after eating whole eggs in the morning (which is why I eat egg beaters.)

I used to get sick all the time, and it was always worse when I was stressed out. Do you ever feel like you have acid reflux or do you cough a lot when you feel sick to your stomach?

For me, it was GERD, which is treatable by taking the off-brand pepcid ac. It’s definitely worth a shot to see if it helps you :).

@SweetRose2011: Yeah it totally sucks!

Like I said, the things that seem to help me the most are doing deep breathing, giving myself a neck massage, and either peppermint or ginger tea to calm my stomach. You can also find ginger capsules in some health food shops too. Don’t force yourself to eat right away unless you absolutely have to. I rarely eat before 10am or 10:30 because it makes me feel gross.

With an Rx, it might be something to think about, or at least talk about with your doctor. The med I take is not something I have to take everyday, it’s just for “in case of emergency!” which is nice to have on hand 😉

@lezlers: I have the exact same issues as you. I agree that the OP should visit her doctor. I have a weak stomach, but it is due to gastritis and ulcers…no fun 🙁

Avoiding wheat and dairy products usually is a great help to getting my stomach feeling better. If I’m feeling really grose I’ll eat a really mild diet for a few days and it seems to help. This also means avoiding greasy and spicy foods, alcohol, and sugar. For days that are really bad I take a perscription antacid.
