For most of my teenage to now-adult life, I’ve had a recurring dream probably at least once a month where I am in a car or vehicle and I can either not control it properly while driving it (steering wheel won’t turn the car, car is going too fast in traffic, etc.) or the brakes don’t work. I had this dream again last night; I was in my sister’s first car and was backing up and the car would not stop no matter how hard I jammed on the breaks. I thought about it when I woke up and have decided that I am such a control freak, this is how my brain deals when I feel as though I have no control over something going on in my life at the moment.
Any other Bees have recurring dreams?

I do! I always have this dream that I am in college and I forgot to drop a class, and then finals happen and I am forced to take an exam for a class that I have never attended and I have no idea what I am taking….

Yes, and I’m getting really tired of them. I have a lot of yelling and screaming with my mom, and also running from the police for whatever reason.
I occasionally get the “oh noes school”, but it’s more then angry stuff than anything.
Oh, I also have them where I’m lugging a ridiculous backpack and trying to get places, and that just isn’t happening. Backpack says “nope, you don’t move”.

Yea, I have a few. The first one I usually have I’m on a bed falling/floating in the sky. It’s a pleasant dream, I like it 🙂 Another one is when I’m trying to run from something (not sure what it is) but I can’t run that fast. I’m going extremely slow, but whatever it is never catches up. I hate that dream… just let me run! Another one I have is extremely weird. I have something in my mouth and I’m trying to spit it out. Everytime I spit it out, more is in my mouth… totally weird. It’s like this shredded stuff too… yea.

For years I would have a dream where I’d be underwater and suddenly discover I could breathe. I’d take a big gulp of water as a “breath” and it would be the most wonderful, invigorating breath I’d ever taken.
Lately I’ve been having recurring dreams of my grandma’s old house. Her house was literally the center of all family gatherings but she moved to NC to an independent living facility to be near her son down there about 7 years ago and I still haven’t quite accepted the fact that that house full of memories, and that house that is in literally every single memory I have from the first 15 years of my life, is gone. For various reasons I’ve been thinking a lot more about that house lately and so I’ve been having a lot of dreams about being there, nothing ever happens in them, I’m just walking around the rooms, touching things, remembering everything. Inevitably though there’s always one room that I can’t get into for some reason…either the door is locked or Grandma told me not to go in, or my mind just draws a blank and can’t create it within the dream. These dreams are always so bittersweet…I wake up and am reminded all over again that I’ll never truly be back at that house again.

Oh and I ALWAYS have dreams right as I’m falling asleep that I’m tripping down a set of stairs and I wake up jerking my legs trying to catch my balance and I get that swooping feeling in my stomach…kinda fun/funny, but not when it’s actually happening!

yea one is where i’m trying to walk normally but i can only walk really slow, or hardly at all.
the other is not the same exact dream every time, but always the same theme. it always involves demonic possession and some evil spirit being in the room i’m in (whatever it may be in that particular dream place) and i’m aware that it’s there even though i can’t see it, and it’s trying to jump in my body. it’s really scary. i haven’t had it in a while thankfully, but when i do it’s horrible. i wake up all shaken up and anxious and can’t go back to sleep.

I have two!
The first one I am trying to get away from someone killing me/attacking me and I need to scream for help. I have no voice and I wake myself up (in real life)screaming.
The second is similar, except I’m paralyzed….and I’m yelling at myself to just move, and I wake myself up twitching/jumping.
They don’t happen every night, but I HATE those dreams!

I used to have that one a lot too. It was like my legs were so heavy I could hardly move them. That one freaked me out.

Every once in awhile I dream that my dad is trying to kill me. So weird.
And rarely I’ll dream I’m on a diving board and falling and the pool doesn’t have water in it.

@Kant: Haha don’t you hate that!?

I have waitressing nightmares. I am serving and none of my food and drinks are coming up and my customers start freaking out and in some I tell my boss off and quit then worry about not having a job.
They happen when I’m overwhelmed with stuff in life.
I call it my ‘in the weeds’ dream. (in the weeds is slang for being friggen slammed/juiced when serving tables) ;p;

I have dreams about a guy I went to high school with like once a week. Literally for the past several years I have tons of dreams that I am in love with this guy. The situations are always different, but he is always there, and I’m always in love with him.
I get pretty upset about it, because, well, I’m about to marry someone else! This guy and I were “friends with benefits” but there was no chance of a relationship. I wish I could just get it out of my head!
