We do. I watch things on demand every now and then or DVR things I want to watch ASAP but that’s it. We also have Hulu, Netflix, Prime Video, and HBO Now.

We do, because my husband likes to watch TV, but if it was left up to me we wouldn’t have anything other than the bog standard 5 TV channels. Before I married him, I watched about an hour of TV a month, if that.

I didn’t miss it in the slightest; occasionally my friends talk about something on TV which I haven’t seen, but I don’t feel I’m missing out.

I suppose I might feel differently if I was at home more (I’m out a lot in the evenings). But I don’t think it’s worth bothering with cable if you’re not bothered at the moment. Save money and do something else!

Nope, infact, my internet provider tried to sign me up for it as part of a package deal, but once I realized what it was and that I didn’t have to have it to watch Neflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, etc. I called and told them to reduce it to just internet and they guilted me for a while saying that it was actually a good deal, well, I told them it isn’t a good deal if I am spending 90 dollars a month on something I don’t need when I could just be spending 40 or 50 on internet alone which we use frequently.

Infact, I admit, we don’t watch a lot of movies and TV shows much anyways, we mostly just play video games and watch Youtube shows, but my parents graciously are letting me use their Netflix and Hulu and my future brother-in-law is graciously letting us use his Amazon Prime, but if they weren’t we wouldn’t bother.

jazzybee83 :  We used to have Verizon Fios for both tv and internet and we cut the TV portion for just internet. Like really, really fast internet. My SO used to host servers in this apartment so we still have business class (it’s ridcious). Anyway, we have YouTube TV and I LOVE IT! They have everything on there and you can add channels a la carte which cable doesn’t let you do. I highly recommend looking into it! I belive we pay $40 (USD) a month for it.

Yes we have cable and it’s really too expensive but my husband insists. And actually, I’ve enjoyed having it… I’ve gotten really into trash TV. Actually now that I think about it, I’m sure if that’s a great thing lol

ETA: We also have Netflix and Amazon Prime Video but there are still shows we like that aren’t available on them. 🙁

We have very basic cable for super super cheap, plus Netflix and Prime. I miss Top Chef and The new season of Suits on NBC. Does anybody know how I can watch those? Thanks!

We don’t have cable. It’s a luxury we can’t afford. We are hardly even home after working long hours and commuting far. I think it’s funny when people try to talk to me about TV at work, then I have to tell them “I don’t have cable”. They act like it’s unheard of.

We do have Amazon Prime, Netflix, Hulu, but it’s all garbage and doesn’t get used often except by my husband. Prime is just for the shipping benefit, Netflix is shared from my parents. My husband buys the Hulu for himself.

I do miss watching the cheesy TLC marriage/dating shows, Food Network, and Lifetime movies.

It’s funny because my husband actually works for a phone/internet/cable company and I’m assuming we would get a big discount, but they don’t even service our area which is stupid.

We don’t have cable because the bill was out of this world and we really only watch a few channels. We signed up for Hulu LiveTV and that has been great for us. We get all of the channels that we would usually watch and don’t have the huge monthly bill to go along with it!

I discovered a cool thing on my phone and it also takes a certain kind of blu ray player. It’s a screen sharing app. I click on the screen-sharing icon on the blu ray player and then open the app on my phone and the blu ray player and my phone connect through wifi. From there, whatever is on my phone, you can see on the tv. We’ve used it a few times to go on the nfl channel for football, so we’re not having to watch the game on a small screen. It’s pretty cool!

We have Hulu LiveTV and love it. It has all of the channels that we would typically watch withouth the big price tag! Most of the options for cable packages around us came with hundreds of channels just to get the few that we actually want! I would maybe do a few trials of some of the different streaming services out there like Hulu LiveTV, Youtube TV, etc.. 🙂
