@linnylou_88:  After I put my son to bed I’ll have me time. I’ll eat some ice cream and watch a movie, or read a book, or scroll mindlessly on the internet/play Sims 3. Sometimes I’ll do some sort of craft or art project. Just stuff that helps me relax and unwind after a long day chasing a toddler 🙂

Typically to get me time i have to leave the house. Or, I go upstairs and do something crafty in my craft room. My husband doesn’t have a lot of hobbies outside the house or do much in the way of “guy time” except summer golfing and going to the gym so he’s always home. Particularly in the winter!

But yes I try to have me time, either with girlfriends, or geting a massage, or just going up and doing something crafty with some music on and the door closed.

I’d say my “me time” is my hour workout 3-5 days per week, as well as my daily bath (which is about 20-30 minutes long) and then when I go to bed, I typically either play Candy Crush or read for about 30 minutes before actually falling asleep.  It sounds like a lot of “me time” in one day but when I go to bed my kids are already in bed, when I take my bath they are typically getting their stuff ready for school the next day.  And my workouts right now do take me away from the kids at least 3 days a week (the other 2 days I workout at home) but that class ends next week and I bring the kids with to go to the fitness centers daycare, and after my class is over they have their Tae Kwon Do in the same room.

Yep, we work opposite hours quite a bit.  So we both have lots of time at home without the other.  His alone time is his to do with as he wishes.

I’ll go to the gym, watch girly tv I know he hates, read, cook/bake and surf the internet.

Once a month my husband DJs at a club, which allows me to have one evening to myself!  I usually spend it with my girlfriends.  Last Friday we went to one of those places where you can paint ceramics.  They had free wine and cheese.  It was a blast!  Other than that, I don’t get a ton of “me” time, but I enjoy my 1 night every month =)

I have me time each week on Tuesday and Thursday nights, and on Sunday afternoons–Mr. H is a glass artist, and he’s at the shop during those times. I usually watch stuff that he wouldn’t be into (Orange is the New Black, anyone?) and play on the Bee or Pinterest.

Other me time is when I go out with my girlfriends or something, but I’m always ready to see him after a few hours. Yeah, I’m that person.

Honestly, my favorite “me” time is when I’m just cleaning and working around the house. My SO and I work variable schedules, so instead of both being home by 5:30 PM, most nights I have at least an hour or two to myself before he gets home. I like to come home and just scrub our apartment. It sounds so lame! Also, of course, anytime that I can spend surfing the net is my time as well. We don’t have any kids, but we have a dog and a new kitten, so even when I am alone it is hard to relax with animals jumping all over me!

@linnylou_88:  I actually wish I had more of it.  I love Fiance to death, but I’ve always had the need for time spent completely alone, ever since I was a kid!  I have a lot of interests I don’t get to pursue as much as I used to because Fiance doesn’t have many hobbies of his own or guy friends to go out with.  It’s actually been a bone of contention within the relationship–him feeling put out if I’m spending too much time to myself or involved in solo hobbies, and me feeling like I need him to allow me more time alone (we live together, and sometimes he doesn’t get that alone time doesn’t mean sitting on the couch next to each other but not talking).

When I do get it, my alone time usually consists of binge reading, catching up on girly TV that he hates, playing computer games for hours on end, crochet, or reading/studying tarot.  More often than not, though, my me-time these days involves the gym, me going out with girlfriends, or getting massage.

@linnylou_88:  I have so much me time it’s sickening incredible. I work edom 6:3-3″15 as a teacher and I have no kids so I have lots of time to myself! I absolutely love it! I love seeing my friends once or twice a week but I prefer being alone. I…

  • read
  • hike with my dogs
  • volunteer in the summer with local migrant workers translating
  • run and exercise a LOT
  • watch Netflix
  • go on the Bee
  • online shop by putting stuff in my Cart and never purchase it
  • decorate my house/ DIY projects
  • clean
  • garden and develop my yard (new-ish construction)
  • count calories

OK that sounds sort of pathetic but it’s true.

Right now, not a chance.  I work full time, go to school full time and both my parents are having pretty serious health problems.  I leave the house at 6:10am, get home around 6:10pm.  I eat, change and then off to the hospital to see whoever is in at the moment.  I get home around 9 or 10, make lunch for the next day, shower and then go to bed.

I’d kill for an evening/day when I could sit and do NOTHING.  But it goes as it goes!

Right now, I don’t get much, between working 3 jobs and applying for a PhD, my time is pretty tight! My ‘me’ time just now is the time I spend with my horse, I go up to the yard when it is quiet and enjoy the hour I have spare, phone turned off, nobody to annoy me!!
