We just moved into a new apartment and are decorating. Darling Husband is an incredible nature photographer so we have quite a bit of that kind of art on the walls, but we also have a LOT of pictures us, our family and our friends everywhere. A big print of our wedding, several collage frames with pictures from WHEN we got engaged, our offical e-pics, wedding pics and Honeymoon pics, then also have a big frame with pictures I took when I went to Ireland a few years ago (mostly nature) then another frame from our Honeymoon that is all the pretty scenery pictures Darling Husband and I took. Are we weird? I grew up in a family of shutterbugs and with lots of pictures on the wall. my thing is, I can google pretty scenery, my house should reflect my life.
What about you? Pretty scenery or art on the walls or you and your family/ friends?

@chasesgirl: We have a lot of pioctures of us and family. most of my husbands family lives out of country and when they visited for the wedding , they felt honored that we had pictures with them in our home. My family and friends are what is important to me in life and it makes me feel happy to see them in pictures in our house.

we are all art and no photos of us that are up anyway.
I dunno I kinda hate staring at ourselves. 🙂

Mostly art for us. There is one picture we’ve ordered a print of from our wedding, and we’ll put it up when it gets here. Other than that, there’s one old photo of us from a shoot we had done when I graduated high school. I like pictures but I love art so… that’s us.

Your house sounds like my dream house. We always forget to take pictures when we go on vacation! We are gradually accumulating pictures of us and family along with some nature photos his friend takes. I think the scenery does reflect your life because you seem to photographers at heart and that’s something you and hubby enjoy photographing. Plus, I bet it helps you reminisce about your vacations.

We are currently in the process of printing up photos of our family and friends, as well as from our holidays, to hang up in our house. Our thinking is that we’re living thousands of miles from our families so we like to have pictures of them around to make it feel like they’re not so far away. And we’ve taken some pretty awesome holidays together so we like to have some of those pictures up as well.
When I go to other people’s houses, I love looking at photographs hanging up. Maybe if it was a mural sized portrait of the couple I might raise an eyebrow but in general, I love seeing people’s pictures hung around their house.

Art for us. I have pictures of my loved ones on my desk in my home office, and Darling Husband has one of me, but that’s it.

I’ve always been a big photo person. I had photos tacked up on my walls all over the place in all my college dorm rooms, I plastered my apartments in photos, I can’t resist.
When we moved in together, Fiance had a lot of old wallet sized school pics of his nieces and nephews and close friends’ kids, so I took two poster-sized frames and some posterboard and cut custom mats for the pics. I even left some space to add. It took me three weeks, but they look great, it was worth it.
And we have TONS of framed photos everywhere, but my favorites are our “bucket list wall”. I took Fiance skydiving for his 30th birthday and we got some great pics of us in the air, so we framed them. Then since we got engaged, we decided that we’re going to do all the crazy things we really want to do before we have kids and can’t afford/don’t have time to do them anymore. So we have pics of us driving luxury racecars, pics of Fiance flying a cessna and a helicopter, pics of us at a military training facility, and they’re all framed real nice up on the wall. We hope one day our kids will look at that and go “wow, mom and dad really were cool once…” 🙂

We have all art on the walls, but we have a couple framed wedding pics, a pic from my sister’s wedding and a framed pic of my grandparents sitting on tabletops/shelves. We do have tons of pictures (of us, friends, family, dogs, etc.) on our refrigerator though. I like to swap them out from time to time for fresh ones, though I don’t get pictures printed often enough as I’d like! Personally, I like going to someone’s home and seeing pictures of them/family, because it makes a house look lived in and personal.

we have a mixture of pictures and art!

@chasesgirl: All art ( I paint and we have a few paintings of mine up) we only have 1 photo thing in our house it is a cabinet thing that holds 4 5×7 pics. It has our family pictures in it and we update it yearly when we get them done. Besides that though I don’t really like haveing pictures hanging all over the place.

I have photos all over the house. I have one huge wall in our living room that is devoted to my missiontrip to Africa(I got so many amazing pictures on that trip and have many pictures of me and my sponsorchild). I also have a ton of picture frames throughout the house with pictures of us. I have two huge frames of pictures of me and friends and family as well. I love the look of photos everywhere, just more personalized imo.

We have art in the public-type rooms, and photos of family in the private rooms like our bedroom. Among the photos of family, there are a couple of the two of us.

We have a mix of art, friends, and family. If there is a picture of us up it’s either us with our daughter, or other family members. None of just us! We both absolutely hate having our picture taken though, so that’s the main reason.
