Sideburns isn’t really the right word but I’m not sure what to call that little bit of hair that grows in front of your ears.
She has them:
She doesn’t have them:
Now I don’t like submitting to the tyranny of hairlessness that encourages modern women to annihilate every strand of hair not found on top of the head or in two distinct and carefully arched eyebrows, but is this a thing I’m supposed to worry about and do something about? I feel like if this was a thing the beauty industry would have tried to make us feel bad about it. Or maybe they have and I just haven’t been paying attention??

I’ve never done anything about them. No one has ever commented on mine except for like one person during the sixth grade.
Don’t worry about it.

I don’t have them, just the tiniest bit of peach fuzz. I notice them on people but they don’t bother me at all. even J-lo has them and she is to die for!

I was just curious because it’s something I never noticed (about me or other women) until I noticed it in some pictures from my wedding, and I was like, “Oh was I supposed to do something about that?” Mine aren’t as pronounced as the example I posted; they’re sort of halfway between that and peach fuzz. Since I’ve never noticed whether other women have them or not, I’m going to assume it’s not really a big deal! I also thought it was curious that I’ve heard women talk about waxing, etc. just about every other part of the body but never heard anyone talk about this, so I was like, is this a thing??

It used to bother me, but honestly, I haven’t thought about it in years!! I don’t know if it SHOULD bother me, but like PP said, I haven’t had any one except like in sixth grade say something to me.

I call them “ladyburns.” Most of the time I don’t think they are noticable to others unless someone decides to trim them.

I totally have them. But I wax the part on the side of my face, not the part that looks like the girl in the picture. I like them to look natural. I don’t really like the way it looks when someone waxes them too high. But I have really dark hair so each little hair shows & you can really see the ones on my cheek, so I just wax them, the same way I would wax my upper lip. But I don’t even do that all the time… I think the model looks beautiful & if that’s how yours are, I wouldn’t worry about it at all!

@Eglantine: You should post some wedding pictures!! But not because I need to see your sideburns, just because I like looking at wedding pics 😉

@MissWitty: Ladyburns…ha ha (and ew).
@Amayansong: I’m still waiting for my pro pics, but in any case I don’t think I would do a photo recap in the thread about ladyburns.

I have them and generally, I pluck the stray hairs that come a little lower because they bother me when I touch my face. I don’t completely remove them though. Where the hair is fuller, it doesn’t bother me that much.

I have them, though they’re not noticeable at all because I wear thick-framed glasses. They don’t bother me at all.

I do not have them, but come to think of it… I suppose I have noticed other women with them. Not that I have really thought about it before, at least not until I saw this thread!
The first person who came to mind was Kourtney Kardashian. She often wears her hair up and has some of the hair fall in front of her ears. I always thought it was kind of cute!
Oh and Vanessa Hudgens too!

Nope, I don’t have them. Honestly I had never thought about this until just now and I had to grab a mirror to check.

I have them, and my mom made me feel like I was mannish when I was younger for having them. Since then, I’ve shaved/waxed/plucked them off once I determined the “right” level I “should” have hair there. I wish it didn’t bother me bc personally I never even notice if other women have them or not, but you know how it is.

I have very pronounced sideburns and I hate them! Sometimes I will pluck to thin them out, or wax them off, but I hate waxing because when it grows back, it is so noticeable 🙁 Most of the time I just let them be 🙁 And I swear, when it comes to hair growth, I am like Wolverine. My body regenerates hair like a mofo.
