The local news has been building up “Smowmageddon 2012” for the past few days. And low and behold, this morning it came!
We currently have 11 inches…that’s quite a bit for around here because we usually only get a couple inches at a time.
The whole city has basically shut down. I haven’t even HEARD a car in hours.

Wowza! That’s a lot of snow!
This winter has been so quiet around here. The only snow we’ve had since our Halloween freak snowstorm was the other night and it didn’t even amount to over an inch. It’s already melted!

Honestly, I hate the idea of snow but I miss it so much!!! We havent had a real snow fall this year yet. There is maybe a millometer of snow on part of the grass.
So to answer your question, no… not really.

We’ve had one little mini snow a week ago… winter seems to be passing us by.
@MissDareDevil: Where are you?

I grew up in Massachusetts so winter without any snow is really bizarre!

It snowed a little bit here yesterday, but it’s all melted now.

A few centimeters here. It’s not much, but it’s enough to make me ridiculously happy. Plus it’s an excuse to leave work early.

I live right near the ocean so we don’t usually get much snow. We do have a skiff. There is quite a bit just to the east of us.
I bought new snow tires this year to drive to/from work. Murphy’s law dictates that I won’t need them, but if I hadn’t purchased them we would have buckets of snow.
I don’t mind the snow but the drivers here are nuts in the snow. When I lived in the interior, we used to laugh at video of Vancouver drivers on the news.

Last year was crazy; I think we got over 20 feet at our house between October and May. This year has been the exact opposite! Whereas we would normally have a few feet on the ground by now, it’s been completely dry and warm so far this year. We’re supposed to get a storm this week, but I’d be surprised if we got more than a foot over the whole week. Definitely not your typical mountain winter!

We are perfectly dry, which is crazy for Nebraska in January. So look for corn, beef, and gas prices to go up because this will cause drought.

We had some, but it melted. It’s been snowing off and on today, but not much on the ground yet. So odd for the city that usually wins the New York State Golden Snowball competition. But according to the website, we are still winning!

Yes! I love it. Of course when it snows in the PNW people go crazy because it’s SO rare! But we got maybe 9 inches last night? Dh was working last night so I was worried about him getting home but he was fine…he saw about 30 accidents though :-/

@MissDareDevil: where are you located?
We don’t have any, we’ve only gotten one dusting so far this year

We have snow now but it’s starting to melt, it will probably be gone by the end of the day. Portland is a lot like Seattle in that when we get snow everyone freaks out because it doesn’t happen that often (but still like once a year!).
