@sofiekitty:  I don’t see why the seamstress wouldn’t let you take pictures. As far as a charge for the consultation, if the seamstress does any pinning to the dress (taking it in, simulating a bustle) it is very likely that she will charge you a pinning fee since it’s the same amount of work she might do if you were to actually get the alterations done through her. Other than that, if you are just talking about what to do then I’m not sure why she would charge you. You can always ask once you get there just so you aren’t surprised at the end.

I had to pay a “fitting fee” of $25 for my consultation — that didn’t include any of the actual alterations. But you should definitely be able to take photos. You own the dress now! 🙂 Good luck!

@sofiekitty:  How did your alteration consultation go? Would love to follow and see what you do with the dress.  You are keeping it, right? I only ask because there is the same dress that’s listed for sale 🙂

I was impressed by your photos and asked to try on the same dress at my appointment yesterday, see my latest post. It’s a beautiful dress!

@sofiekitty:  Is the dress pinned in the very last photo? The bum area looks tighter than in some of your previous photos = better! 🙂 I like the idea of adding buttons, if I get this dress, I’ll probably do the same. The lowered back looks gorgeous too. I personally would be afraid that I’d lose support by lowering the back, did the salon say anything about that?

The dress really does look gorgeous on you! The model picture of this dress is just horrendous, I would have never given it a second thought if I didn’t see your photos here!

I haven’t tried on the corset but I’m going back for a follow-up appointment to try on again some of my faves and then I’ll ask them to do a full thing ..  Have you tried adding some crinolin on the bottom only (knee down)? They inserted some for me very quickly and it gave it a nice flare on the bottom.
