Do you have wedding day things displayed in your home?

I’d suggest putting it in a shadow box with maybe some dried flower petals, a ribbon, lace from your gown or something like that.  We just have a few pictures up (rustic wood frames to match the home) an album I made (currently hiding from our son) and I planted the succulents from my bouquet.  Our guestbook was a puzzle my bridal party gifted us, so it stays on a shelf with other puzzles (everyone signed the box).

The succulents are much bigger now, but it’s not as pretty – I need to repot it as it’s gotten long and straggly.

loveydove :  our entire basement living space is decorated in wedding stuff. I specifically chose items I’d be able to display as we had just bought a house. Our wedding was nautical themed and I had an anchor my dad made hanging up, our wedding “knot” on display with our wedding invite as well as other Knick knacks such as some knots we used to decorate tables, our place card “boats” I bought on Etsy and some wedding mason jars we had our flowers in. To go along with the theme, my sister bought us a blanket and pillows from a gift shop in the town we got married. I’ll see if I can take a picture

Nothing from the wedding is on display. We have a wedding picture in our bedroom, but I don’t consider that as a display. “Wedding” is just not our decorating style.

loveydove :  well our guestbook was two screen printed posters that we had matted (and people signed the mats). We have those hanging side by side in our living room. I also have my preserved flowers from my bouquet in the glass box that we used for cards along with our vows books – that’s sitting on my dresser. On some shelves we have our cake toppers and marquee lights. I intend at some point to work the couple of lanterns i kept from our centerpieces into our home decor as well.

skunktastic :  OT, but your long and strangely succulent is suffering from too little light. That stretching is called etoilation and happens when they’re trying to reach for more light than available. Unfortunately, there’s no reversing it – it will continue to be stretched like that from now on as it grows. Also, that pot is far too large for your succulents (who like to be tigheter in their pots) and they actually really hate organic soil (it eventually causes root rot). They’d do better is a well draining substrate mixture.

Sorry For the unsolicited advice; it just seemed like you were committed to keeping these guys alive and happy

We have a photo from our first dance and our vows written by a calligrapher both framed and hanging in our bedroom. That’s all we have up.

We actually have a ton of things, because we did a lot of DIY.  We planned for things we would keep including candleabras on our mantle, centerpiece, and our living room decor is a 3 pane panoramic of our wedding backdrop, sort of rollings hills type of thing.  Nothing of ours says wedding, is white, or has dates.  It all looks like stuff bought for the purpose of decorating a house.  But we know 😀  And anyone who attended our wedding looks at the art in the living room and goes…Wait is that where your wedding was???  Woah how’d you do that etc etc.

We have a few photos on our wall (one of us dancing, one of our rings, and one of the church), and D.H. made a shadowbox collage of our program, cake topper, streamers, and our wedding favor. It came out really nicely and isn’t over the top at all! The photos and shadow box occupy the corner of our living space over the dining table. 😊
