My cousin plans weddings for a living so it was a no brainer for me. I gave her a fairly detailed idea for what I want and she is using my guidelines to make our wedding vision come to life. It’s amazing to not have to worry about the various pink shades of napkins. Lol!

Can I vote other?  We weren’t going to have one (due to buget), but the venue we picked provides us one, not a full-fledged do everything, but one who coordinates the other vendors and is there the day of to handle major issues.

@Katyxa:   I don’t have a wedding planner.  I am losing my last marble over the planning – if it weren’t for Fiance helping me I’d be completely lost.

We do to some extent. We had her locate our venue and she gave us a list of prefered vendors and has been all around great for helping with our budget. We consult on an hourly basis since we can handle most of the planning but do have her reserved for day of stuff to relieve the stress and chaos of trying to set everything up in an hour.

I have never heard of a wedding stylist, and I’m a wedding vendor? Unless florists have started giving themselves a fancy name? Every florist I know does all event decor – not just flowers.

I had a “Day Of” Coordinator, although I did consult with her for various things throughout the process. From my standpoint, as a bride and wedding photographer, is that a *professional* coordinator is the best gift a bride can give herself.

@Katyxa:  our wedding took place in Tuscany, Italy…therefore we had to hire a wedding planner and a stylist…. was well worth the expense! we were just able to relax on our day and knew everything was taken care of. Our invitations were DIY though.

No planner, but both our ceremony and reception locations came with DOCs!

I’m doing it myself. I wish I had a wedding planner though. I’m starting to lose my mind.

I don’t have a wedding planner or stylist, but I do have a coordinator at the hotel my reception is being held at that’s helping me decide on timing of deliveries and the event, along with food and alcohol ordering. So I’m not 100% on my own.

I didn’t have a planner. I did 99% of it on my own.

We had one. It is literally the best money you will ever spend. Even the husband says so. Lol.

I had a DOC for my family-only wedding and I have a full service wedding planner for my reception for friends next year. BEST THINGS EVER. I’m planning long distance, no wedding party, and no help from. With Darling Husband and I both working 50+ hours a week, we saw it as a convenience investment that helped save our sanities.

@Katyxa:  I had a wedding planner for our Destination Wedding Maui wedding. If I had more time, I probably could have done it myself.
