I can’t really help since I didn’t know I was going to get a proposal. Since I’d been up since dawn playing a drum, I didn’t look exactly glamorous!

Have you got any favourite, slightly more formal outfits in your wardrobe already? If not, what sort of clothes do you like?

My proposal is like a year away at best XD who knows what clothes I’ll own then!

What would you normally wear on a nice date, or what kind of thing have you tended to wear on your anniversarys? That’s probably the look I’d go for ^^ or even a favourite dress or top?

I haven’t planned what I’m going to wear but since I know exactly when the day will be, I’ll be able to pick out something nice. We’re not going to a REALLY fancy restaurant but I like dressing up anyway.

I was in sweats the day after a root canal so I was NOT looking my best!

I’d suggest wearing some you already own that you feel super confident in.  If you feel sexy and beautiful you’ll be glowing!

I wouldn’t buy something new because you’ll be buying new outfits for everything during the engagement.  Good luck!

I just got engaged last Friday at Disneyland. I was wearing a tshirt and shorts! I was comfortable tho.

Well if it happens this weekend chances are I’ll be wearing dirty barn clothes, covered in horse hair, and dripping sweat. I guess there’s a good chance of that any day actually… If we go out to dinner then I’ll be sunburned and in something loose that doesn’t chafe 🙂

ETA: If dirty barn clothes aren’t an option for you, I would suggest something that makes you feel super pretty when you wear it (you don’t want to be fidgeting trying to pull it back to the right place all night if you get nervous) and I personally would go for a solid color because when you take the pictures you want people to see your smile and your ring, not the pattern on your top.

Yes! (I hope!) I have a white 50’s shape short dress that I bought on a whim in  a sale.. SO said it was quite wedding-guesty.. but all girls know you cant wear white to a wedding 🙂 so I hope it might be engagement or Hen party dress x good luck!

I *thought* or maybe *hoped* it was happening that night and asked his help getting dressed. I wore the same skirt I had on the night we met 🙂 and then just a nice top.

BUT then he didnt ask right away so I endded up changing into flannel pj pants and a $5 tank top. And then he popped the question!

Unless he proposes on our 1-year anniversary, I have no idea what day it’s coming. Watch me look like a bum that day in sweats and/or messy hair. Tongue Out

IDK… I don’t even know when the proposal will happen, although I think maybe on a trip to London this fall?

I would wear an outfit which makes me feel (and look) my best. I love dresses, so what about a nice flirty dress that you (and your SO) love?

I’d recommend to get a few nice outfits just in case. It could even happen during a simple stroll outside you may never know. For a date, I’d go with a nice, retroish dress like this.

*fingers crossed* good luck!

@HourThyme: aha hahaha, Boys!

Mine popped the question right when I walked in the door after work one day. I’m a chef, so I was wearing black scrub pants with food on them and a dingy white t-shirt with my hair pulled back. I was so excited!
