I find this really weird, and I know so many people who do it. One of my friends does it “just in case” and Fiance keeps some of his old friends in his phone so he knows not to answer if they try and call. I never answer numbers I don’t know and if I haven’t talked to someone for 6+ months, I delete them from my phone (in my case, that’s essentially from my life as it’s all I use to communicate :P).

I go through my phone every six months or so and get rid of contacts that I don’t talk to anymore (a lot of times, this has been previous work contacts or school offices)

I have contacts that I re-labled as “do not answer”. I don’t remember which ex’s they are, but at least I know that they are never phone calls or texts that I want to bother with. 🙂

I have a bunch of contacts all named “Ignore”, but otherwise I delete contacts every 6 months or so!

@MrsPanda99: I too have a bunch of “Do not answer” contacts. I also have a lot of old numbers. Every once in a while I go on a trip or something with a bunch of people I don’t see/talk to regularly. It’s nice to be able to contact them while on the trip without having to ask each time. I also have several good friend’s parent’s numbers. You know, in case they die while I’m with them and I have to call their mom 😛

I have old numbers because I never thought to go through my contacts to delete them.
Every once in a while, I’ll see a contact in my phone that I haven’t spoken to in a long time and I wonder how s/he is doing. But it never occurs to me to delete the number. lol.

I occasionally delete numbers from people I never talk to. But any time I get a spam call it goes under my “don’t answer” contact.

I don’t delete contacts on a regular basis, but if I come across one that I know I won’t need then I delete it. But some contacts I might only need to call once a year but they stay in there.

I do have some that I haven’t talked to in 6+ months because I know that I might at some point need their number (Ex: my aunt) but beyond that I delete contacts pretty regularly.

@MrsPanda99: i keep numbers ‘just in case’, too. lol

@MrsPanda99: I keep contacts if there’s a chance they will be in touch at some point (like if they’re acquaintances). I don’t want that awkward text where I’m like “who is this?!”, and I may have to contact them for some reason. If it’s someone that I haven’t talked to in YEARS, I will delete them when I notice them in my contacts list.
I am not a big phone person (calling wise, anyway), so realistically if I didn’t talk to the person for 6+ months I think I’d have 3 people in my phone 😛
I also keep a bunch of other #s in there.. like stores, taxi companies, etc… I probably have more of those sorts of things than actual people in there.

I delete contacts every once in awhile, but usually only if I haven’t talked to them in years. My fiance, on the oher hand, never deletes contacts “just in case”. He has people he hasn’t spoken to in a decade.

I don’t go through and delete any of them simply because I don’t feel like taking the time. There are still contacts from high school in there and I’m 24.

I don’t answer numbers I don’t know. If it’s important they can text or leave a voice mail.
I have a couple of numbers (like four) I keep just in case, but for the most part, I go through and delete if I haven’t spoken to them in a year.I probably have their info in my email contacts if I really need it…
…However, my Email contacts on the other hand is out of control. I should probably delete at least 3/4 of it.

I do incase they leave me a voicemail. I ave a few relatives/friends that I only communicate with a few times a year by text or VM.
