Hell no. Never. Just thinking about it makes me feel ‘ewwwwwwwwwwwwwww’. But I come from a family where no one touched, ever. No hugs, no physical contact at all. I remember once, when I was a teenager, in Mass the priest asked us to hug the person next to us instead of shaking hands. I was next to my mother and actually physically recoiled…
Fiance kisses his mum on the cheek, and tbh, it creeps me out a bit. And that’s just on the cheek! I know it’s because of the way I was bought up, but you don’t get over that sort of conditioning easily. I don’t think mouth kissing is appropriate for anyone but your romantic partner once you are no longer a young child.

@MrsFuzzyFace: It’s totally different when they’re little as opposed to grown adults…now that’s weird.

Wow, weird. I can’t believe the vote! I peck my dad on the lips sometimes, it’s no big deal. (My mom, too.) We don’t do it every time we see each other but once in a while, whatever. I’m happy to be from a loving affectionate family!
Whoever said “It’s only weird if you make it weird” – WORD. Sheesh, how repressed are some of y’all? Lol

@Tangled: This is SO inappropiate. Your family members, great. Other people who are not expecting it? Bad.

Most definetly not! A hug is good enough for me!

I kiss lots of people on the mouth. Close girlfriends, family etc.

@MrsFuzzyFace: I think when the daughter is under the age of innocence its adorably sweet but once she hits her late teens or even starts romances of her own, I think it should move to cheeks.
I kiss my dad on the cheek all the time. He often squeeks my ear with a kiss and its a fabulous part of our interactions that I wouldn’t trade for the world… but I kiss my Darling Husband on the lips and that’s the only person I do that with.
A kiss on the cheek can be for everyone… kiss on the lips is for intimacy once you’re of age.

@FauxBoho: I do too! I mean, not ALWAYS, but I do sometimes. My parents, close friends, etc. I don’t think there’s anything weird about it, but I know it would be weird for some people. And I have known my close friends since we were children, anyways. :]

@bebero: Really? Oh wow. Thank you so much for letting me know. Now that my family has been judged by YOU, and anonymous internet poster… based on my anonymous internet post, I see the error of our ways. We will change immediately. I don’t know what I would have done without your help here. Probably would have just continued living my life. Thank GAWD for you!

My family wasn’t raised to exchange love that way, but I have seen it before. My nieces (all girls from my sisters) kiss me on the mouth though, but they’re wee ones, so it doesn’t bother me. I wouldn’t kiss my dad on the mouth, though (and I won’t kiss any other adults on the mouth either except for my FI).
