    Yes

    No

    Sometimes

    Used to do so

    Just parent(s)

    Siblings

    Any and all

Kissing is just for me and my SO!

I would be comfortable, but we don't do so

I don’t. But I’m really surprised by how many people are weirded out by it. I don’t think its weird at all. I think its perfectly normal and sweet in lots of families and cultures. Just something we never do in my family.

I did growing up, but now it’s more of a side mouth/cheek kind of kiss…

In my family we do, but only until we’re like seven and then it stops. And I remember it mostly with grandparents and great aunts and uncles. Mostly, my immediate and extended family are all cheek kissers (and we do this a lot!).

I kiss my mom on the mouth. And awkwardly hug my 16 year old brother. My 5 year old son and 2 year old daughter kiss me on the mouth.

@PixelMePretty:  I’m pretty sure if it’s your relatives you’re kissing, it’s not about romance. It’s just affection.

@missjayb:  Which is why I don’t kiss them on the lips. 😉

The only time this has happened is by accident, hahaha! I always aim for the cheek…. I dunno, I only kiss my SO on the lips.

I can’t help having  a visceral negative reaction when I have seen this done.  It reminds me of the Sex and the City episode of Charlotte’s Mother-In-Law sitting on the bathtub watching her grown son take a bath.  Yuk.

@weddingmaven:  Eew!  DH was in the ER once for food poisoning, and his parents met us there.  For some reason, his mom went with him into the triage room instead of me.  The nurse wanted him to change into a hospital gown, and he needed help, so he told his mom to come get me instead.

I don’t kiss family on the lips. I think that’s for lovers only.

I also stopped allowing my grandmother to kiss me on the cheek when I was around 10.  I couldn’t stand getting her slobber on my face.  I heard my dad say later that it hurt her feelings, but I see it as me drawing boundaries for myself.

Once, by accident, i kissed my dad on the lips when I meant to go for his cheek….it was awkward for me and I made a face. He goes “its ok honey, i still love you” and laughed it off. So…phew.

I still give my mom a little peck once in a blue moon.

But I don’t see my parents often, and when I do I hug the sh:t outta them. We’re a very affectionate family.

    @lolot:  +1 agreed.

I kiss my 6 year old on the lips and my fiance… thats it. Im not really into hugging a whole lot either, to me its very personal too. I force my self to hug certain family members just so that they dont feel left out.

@Bee-In-Hiding:  My mom kissed me on the lips goodnight once when I was a teenager and in my head I was just like, “I’m just gonna pretend that didn’t happen.”

Kissing relatives on the lips really skeeves me out. But I was also molested by a family member growing up who would kiss me so I am really biased.

We’re a family full of cheek/forehead/top-of-the-head kissers. 😛  Thankfully, SO’s is the same!
