@wisher558:  No, Future Brother-In-Law has lived out west for over 30 years now, and they don’t talk regularly by phone. When I met him he hadn’t been to visit Fiance and FMIL/FSIL in a long time.

@wisher558:  I totally feel you! One of the guys my SO wants to be a Groomsmen is a guy I have never met. It would make sense if the potential Groomsmen lived across the country or something, but he lives less then 15 minutes away from us.

My friends keep telling me I can’t control this (I’m a control freak) and he’s allowed to have who ever he wants to stand up with him.

I’m trying to let it go, but how have I met not this guy after 4 1/2 years?!

I still haven’t met 2 of my FI’s groomsmen. They haven’t been around for a lot of things. All 6 of my bridesmaids came to our engagement party. 2 of FI’s groomsmen came. I feel so bad for FI; his friends just don’t seem that supportive.

I know all 4 of them…it was important for me that our bridal party be filled with people we both know and love, as well as people who supported us as a couple. We each know the others attendants very well:)

We’ve been together 8 1/2 years and have been best friends for 10. If I didn’t know the entire cast of characters standing by his side, I’d question why they were even there. After a decade, I expect I would have met everyone of importance to him at least once.

So yes, for me, I know everyone and he knows all of my girls.

I know all of the guys. 2 are friends of his from high school into adulthood, 1 is his cousin, and 1 is my brother in law (my sister’s husband).

I of course know the two guys on my side of the wedding party very well, but I only know one of the guys on his side as well as all three of the girls. The other two guys have been his friends since childhood, but I’ve only met them in passing once or twice. I barely even know anything about them.

He knows most of the women on my side — there’s only one he hasn’t met in person, but he’s interacted with her online. The other three are a mutual friend, my sister and a high school friend who he’s met several times and he thinks is awesome.
