No we don’t. I don’t want litter up where we eat. She very rarely goes up on the counter or table anymore since she knows she’s not supposed to be up there.

Sorry, but that would be too gross for me. I don’t walk on the table or counter in my bare feet, why would I let a pet? Never mind that they are dragging their a_ _ all over the surface also.

Yeah. My Fido stays ground-bound. She may lay on the couch with me, but counters and table tops– she knows better. That kitty will sit directly underneath my husband though, because she knows he’s bound to drop more crumbs than I do.

Um my boxer climbs on the table when nobody is in the room with her. Yes, a full grown boxer on the table. She does it even when there is no food on the table. Shes broken the oil and vinegar holder we used to keep on the table twice, which is how we found out (their were oil dog prints all over the table and the floor). Now I have a little dog. Oh and by no means is she allowed up there. And we do wash the table after catching her because we’re sure shes not the most sanitary member of the household.

My GSD loves to try and counter surf ( two paws up scanning with his nose for any goodies or toys) but he knows if we are around it ain’t happening.

I will however admit we share treats and meals on occasion 🙂

Our cat has never really had the impulse to jump on the kitchen counters. Its a small kitchen, so he doesn’t have much running room.  He does get on the kitchen table that we don’t eat at, and he knows that he shouldn’t be up there!

@Pinkmoon:  Maybe give him a cat tree? Cats like being high up, and he might be seeking the counter tops as refuge. A cat tree might cut down on that a little. Not when there is food involved, obviously, but otherwise… maybe?

We don’t let our cat on the counter or table. Since cats stand in their own feces, that’s a HUGE no in my book. He obeys and doesn’t test that limit, thankfully.

While I am pretty easy-going about our pets, I have banned our indoor-outdoor cats to living outside. Fiance never worried about it, but I simply cannot deal with cats sleeping on my stove/counters/sink. So gross and dirty. Hair balls in my food? No bueno. I HATE sitting on my toilet seat in the middle of the night, and sitting in a wet spot caused by one of my cats fishing on the bowl to drink. Ugh. My dogs are cleaner than those cats. They have ruined $100’s of dollars worth of clothes trying to sleep on top of the closet rack, and I have had my head and face attacked when I rolled over on MY OWN pillow in my sleep. Like, scar-causing attacks. No more obnoxious cats in my house.

I don’t have pets, I can’t stand the hair and all that.  Doesn’t hair get all over your counters and food when your pets are running around on stuff?
