(Closed) Do you lie in polls?

No, never. They're anonymous. Why would I lie?

Sometimes, to spare the OP's feelings (like if they hate their dress but can't afford to replace it)

Sometimes I choose an answer that will ruffle some feathers.

Sometimes I'll choose an answer claiming my ring is more expensive or a bigger ct weight than it is.

I'll choose an option I don't actually prefer bc it's what the bride can afford (dress, ring, etc)

I nearly always give dishonest answers for polls.

I rarely give genuine responses to polls.

Whooops, one of the votes for “I rarely give genuine responses to polls” was me and it was an accident!!

Wait, are the last two options kinda the same thing?! I’m confused.

No, I don’t see the point in lying. I also don’t try to make myself sound amazing on the internet…I think it’s so stupid when people do that. You don’t even know these strangers you’re bragging to, why does their praise mean anything?

The irony in this thread IS funny though =)

I don’t lie in polls. If someone posts and asks if I like their dress I’m either not going to answer at all or I’ll tell the truth- I won’t lie just to make them feel better. Sometimes none of the options in the poll suit me so I just try to choose the closest answer. Sometimes that answer isn’t completely true for me but it’s the closest one to the truth (if that makes any sense lol).

No.  Doesn’t make any sense to me since it’s anonymous.

I often reply as well, but if I don’t, chances are it’s the option that the OP really doesn’t want to hear, but it’s how I feel.

@IheartUFC:  The only time I tell an untruth (not a lie) in polls is if there isn’t an option that works and no “other” option. I’ll pick whatever’s closest and clarify in the comments.

The polls are anonymous… so even if people hate my responses (or me), they’ll never know.

@Kimberley25:  1+ if it wasn’t anonymous i bet more people would lie.

If the bride is trying to decide between a dress she’s already bought and another dress, I always vote the dress she’s already bought.

I almost always answer truthfully, or as close to the truth as the poll options will allow me to be. But, very rarely I will pick a cheaper &/or uglier option just because I know the alternative would never work for their budget.

Like, if a gorgeous dress is 10k, and a decent dress is $900. Yep, I’m going to vote the cheaper option everytime.

@sheepandbear:  Yep! The last two poll response options in this thread mean the same thing, just worded differently. OP, are you able to change that?

I always tell the truth because hello, it’s anonymous.  I’m sure the OP knows people lie on the internet to a PP, but I think her point is finding out why.  It’s one thing to pick a dress, ring, that the poll poster already has but I want to know why 9 people voted they choose an answer to ruffle feathers.  What’s the point of that?  To just be a prick???

Nope, I always answer with the truth. Even in posts that I write.. I will gently comment on how I feel towards the subject at hand. Even if it’s about a dress or ring that I’m not fond of. In the nicest possible way, of course. But even still, I’ve seen where bees will ask for opinions and get all uppety if they aren’t align with their own.

Don’t ask for opinions if you aren’t willing to hear what everyone feels on the subject!
