(Closed) Do you lie in polls?

  • poll: Do you lie in polls? CHOOSE ALL THAT APPLY.

No, never. They're anonymous. Why would I lie?

Sometimes, to spare the OP's feelings (like if they hate their dress but can't afford to replace it)

Sometimes I choose an answer that will ruffle some feathers.

Sometimes I'll choose an answer claiming my ring is more expensive or a bigger ct weight than it is.

I'll choose an option I don't actually prefer bc it's what the bride can afford (dress, ring, etc)

I nearly always give dishonest answers for polls.

I rarely give genuine responses to polls.

@HisMoon:  Oh hell, I get that! If you met me IRL you would find someone far more polite and less confrontational than my persona on here. I get that the internet is freeing…. but it is freeing you to be more honest and less polite and restrained than you are IRL, surely?

My main fear on here is that I will be bust… and my real life acquaintances will know my real feelings via the posts I have written on the bee!

If someone is clearly fishing for compliments, I will vote the opposite just because it pisses me off.

@Rachel631:  I was being too restrained in my previous comment, ironically. I meant people totally make shit up about themselves, not just that they’re a bit more free and less restrained. It wouldn’t surprise me if the lying bled into the polls.

I never lie in polls, if there isnt an option that fits me I wont vote, and if its a bit embarrassing or I am going against the grain I just dont elaborate! Its anonymous!

@IheartUFC:  I had to laugh at this poll. What else could I do? I have never considered this possibility on such a deep level!

@IheartUFC:  What if I lie in this poll about my lying behaviour in polls? 😛

I always give the true or most appropriate answer for me, but I will admit, if my opinion seems to be unpopular I often won’t explain it in the comments. I’m not one to start or engage in drama online, and I get really upset if someone comes after me based on something I’ve said, so my usual approach is to keep quiet if I think my response might start drama.

I’ll always vote honestly in a poll.  If my opinion is something the poster probably doesn’t want to hear (like I think her dress is ugly or something) I will just vote and not comment.

I wouldn’t say I lie but if the OP gives a few options options for something (ring, dress, etc.) and there is no option for “neither” I will vote for the one I dislike the least when technically I don’t like any of the choices.

No point in lying. If I don’t see an option that fits me I pick the closest one to or I just don’t vote.

@BrandNewBride:  I also do this.  Even if I don’t like the original dress more than dress #2, I’ll pick the original dress, because it doesn’t make sense to buy a second to me.

and the last two options in the poll are the same!
