Interesting. Didn’t know there was such a thing as “Goth” baby names. Learn something new every day.

Personally, I don’t like any of them. But I also like very traditional names, so I guess this shouldn’t be surprising.

Are they all intended to be unisex, or ?

I like Cullen and Ophelia. The rest I’m not a fan of.

Alec is Goth? The rest are too out there for me.

Eris the goddess of discord was always my favourite Goddess in Greek Mythology.   I love that she was such a jealous bitch she instigated the Trojan War all by giving Paris a Golden Apple and telling him to pick which ever goddess out of Athena, Aphrodite and Hera was the best.  LMAO.

I love looking at origins of names.

missmagnificent :  Ophelia sounds beautiful. I didn’t even realize it was gothic sounding.

missmagnificent :  I highly dislike Ophelia. I think that would be an embarrassing name to have. I find it in a similar category to a name like Gretchen or Gweynth (although love Paltrow)

We just had a hurricane in Ireland (our first in 30 yrs) and it was called Ophelia. So I reckon that name is going to very popular over here in 9 months!!

I really only like Ronan. Ophelia and Amaris are okay. The others are too out there for me.

missmagnificent :  Former goth here. I like Alec and don’t mind Ophelia, no to the rest. My only reservation with Ophelia would be that it’s easy to make fun of in a gross way (eg “let me feel ya, Ophelia”). I can see teenage boys trying that one.

I read the name Erith in a book once and liked it. Apparently it means “goddess of chaos”.

My son is named Ronan, I didn’t know it had a gothic feel to it? I liked it because it was an Irish name and a little uusual where I live.

misskate18 :  Yes Eris is the Greek goddess of Chaos and discord.    She was featured in a few Ancient Greek mythology stories.  Most famous being The Trojan War.
