I leave behind personalized stuff with the couple’s name because really what do I care? I don’t need memorabilia from friends or family. Usually favors are small (trinkets) and if it’s anything that would require me to have to buy additional items to make it look good in my home I am leaving it.

I voted no, but we sort of did personalized favors; we bought a ton of personalized match boxes and scattered them everywhere, including at the place settings, for people to take. We had a lot of smokers at the wedding, so we put a lot on the outdoor cocktail tables especially. Not a single box was left at the end of the night; Mother-In-Law told me she had to go around and ask people to give her a couple so she’d get some.
I figured, matches are useful. People like useful things. Matches are inherently disposable too, so no one would feel bad using the matches then tossing the box. Matches are also cheap as anything; we got like 400 boxes for $100. Maybe that’s a good compromise?
