I love my job, though there are days where I hate it.
I’m a Governess, so I teach the eldest of three boys and nanny them all occasionally. Teaching distance education is stressful, the papers suck and what they’re expecting of the students is insane. The boy I teach also has a developmental delay mainly in speech, but also in learning and behaviour – which is why most days are rewarding, but there are a few that have brought me to tears.
I love the time off I get from my job; 2 weeks unpaid and 8 weeks paid leave, plus flexible hours and I get to holiday with the family.
This definitley isn’t my ‘forever’ career, but for now, I enjoy my job, the pay and time off is excellent, so until we want to buy a house our have children, we’re happy as we are.

@laceydoilies: You are a wise woman! Money is not worth unhappiness.
I am one of those people with three degrees in completely different fields: Communications, International Relations, and Nursing. I am an event manager and presenter for a major automotive brand, and it is a dream job for me. I love presenting, the beautiful events, the travel, and working with the public. A few years ago, I also decided to turn my pediatric oncology volunteer passion into a possible future 2nd career, and now also work with sick kiddos. One day when I have a family of my own and want to slow down in the event world, I will work in the NICU or Pediatric Oncology full-time.

@Bebealways: My hero. That sounds amazing! What program do you teach through?
I’ve seen some openings in Indonesia for a program called EF and have been highly considering it, but my gig is pretty sweet.
I teach English in Hawaii at a school that’s rich in culture and history. I love my job. I love my kids. I love my school with admin, faculty and everything.
Even though my classroom is in the basement where the school was used as a makeshift hospital and morgue (the morgue was in my wing) during WWII, I still wouldn’t trade it for another one in the world.

My place is inbetween. I hate it sometimes because of the constant complaining about minor things. Most of the time I LOVE that I work alone, and that my boss is literally unable to breath down my neck. I also do not have to deal with annoying co-workers in my face every day. Anyway, I once again feel like I do not care if I get laid off. I have no benefits (part time). Yet, when I asked for 2 days off, it was a big deal. Why?! If I take off I just lose pay. It is also not like what I do is f*cking rocket science. If I am off everyone will be just fine. Nonetheless, I am praying to move onto greener pastures, specifically when I finish college. I am working on my bachelor’s and this job allows time for me to study, which is why I have not quit.

@laceydoilies: It’s the owner of the company who is also the “general manager”. It’s never going to change, so I just need to get out as soon as I can.
