I think it okay for a state name but if I remove the I at the end.   Um yeah Kids will pick upon that idea.

I cant say I like it, but at least its a real name, so I don’t hate it. Besides, its your baby, not mine.

I like the name – and Virginia Woolf was a pretty damn cool writer too! ๐Ÿ™‚

hollyberry4:  I LOVE the name Virginia. (We are also considering it for our future daughter’s name! It’s DH’s grandma’s name and they were super close!)

I don’t think she would ever be teased! It’s a pretty name and I think Ginny is just super cute ๐Ÿ™‚

I also want to add that it reminds me of “Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus” which I love ๐Ÿ™‚

I like Virginia, and my name is Holly! If you didn’t go for Virginia, you could always call her Holly Virginia!

My great grandmothers name was Virginia and Ive always loved it! I love it even more now thinking of the nick name Ginny. So cute!

i say go for it. It’s beautiful, classic, and I’m sure when she gets older she’ll really love it. she may have a problem with it when she’s younger though . But then again, her middle name is lovely and normal, so if she ever really dislikes it, she can just go by Holly. I don’t think that will be the case though. ๐Ÿ™‚

hollyberry4:  Beautiful name. It’s a classic name that many people are familiar with. Especially considering that there is a state with the same name. For this reason I doubt she would have any trouble with it.

I went to school with a few Virginias and none of them were teased for their name. I feel that the “oh kids might pick up on this” hype is overrated in the majority of cases and you shouldn’t give up a name you like because of that.

I like Virginia.  One of my high school class mates gave that name to her daughter.  It is very old school. My rule for naming kids is that I have to be able to think of at least 1 old person with the name.  I have a Ben and a Natalie.  Nothing new or modern for me…..
