I think the bees are right, you won’t know for sure until you try it on. Personally I think the gold overlay on it is a bit too busy, but it may look amazing on. So if you like it, try it on and send us a new pic! good luck!

I like the idea of a gold overlay, but this specific dress seems to be lacking sophistication. I think the sash that starts at the middle, just below the bust and extends downward makes the dress look a too princess-like (think prom dress) and detracts from the sophisticated elegance. Perhaps you can find something similar without the sash?

@luckyprincess: Has a very vintage feel to it. Not my personal style but if you love it then try it on!

I think it’s pretty but it’s not my style. You need to try on dresses yourself and see what you love since you will be wearing it. What other people think about it is irrelevant, and as the bride, people will think you are gorgeous no matter what.

Lol – thanks! My sister is a size 2 and not a lot of curves and I’m always jealous, – the grass in greener, right?
Thanks ladies! I wouldn’t even be getting married for another year or two and we haven’t even done all of the engagment stuff yet (such procrastinators, but we’re not going anywhere so no rush :P) so I feel weird trying on gowns. But you have to admit, it’s the funnest place to start planning! So I know I need to try on but I’m also an opinion junkie since I can get tunnel vision when I like something. I’m seeing the sash under the chest now and thinking it is a little promish so those are good things to point out!
