Fiance and I go out drinking fairly often, pretty much every weekend. I don’t always get drunk, but drinking is a pretty big part of our social lives – however, we do live in the town with the most bars per square mile in the country.

I do not drink alcohol and I am not 80 years old, thank you. AND I have nothing against alcohol except when people get drunk and then drive. My niece was killed by a drunk driver at the age of 18 years old. I was born with a genetic condition where I lack one or more of the alcohol dehydrogenases needed to detoxify alcohol so I react to alcohol the same as food poisoning. One drink of ANYTHING containing alcohol makes me violentyly ill. That being said – as someone that does not get drunk – y’all are pretty damn funny when you are drunk, which is entertaining. I can do without the obnoxious drunks though!

I love pugs especially black ones! Adorable and such sillt personalities.
I aim to get drunk 1-2 times a year but it sometimes happens by accident so maybe 4X a year total.

Literally… MAYBE 1 or 2 times a year. I, like you, am a 20 something but act more like an 80 year old, haha.

i like to drink and i don’t mind a light buzz, but i’ve never gotten totally wasted. i just don’t see the point. i want to have a good time and remember it (and not get punished for it) the next morning. it doesn’t take a lot of alcohol for me to get tipsy, so i always take it easy. there have been a couple times where i got more than a good buzz and i didn’t like the feeling at all, so i learned my lesson real quick
plus, i don’t like having to baby-sit drunk people, so i don’t want anyone to have to deal with me stumbling around or having to hold my hair back while i barf.
pretty much everyone has tried to get me to drink more than i want to, but they stop trying when they realize i’m not going to cave. i know when i’ve had enough and there’s no amount of cheering and chanting that will change my mind.

Once or twice a year, yeah. 🙂 Get drunk, dance it out, stop by McDonalds for my hangover prevention (burger, fries, quickly down a whole bottle of water), and have DH take me home. 🙂 I haven’t had a hangover in a few years so the whole “I don’t want to feel sick the next day” hasn’t been a concern. My friend turned me on to greasy food and tons of water right before you go to bed to prevent hangovers and I’ve never turned back. 🙂

I voted earlier every now and again but I don’t go out and intentionally do it. It usually happens about once or twice a year tops. I am pretty good at controlling myself and the hangovers are just NOT worth it anymore.

I do drink with the intention of getting drunk every once in a while, but I really don’t like bar hopping. When I drink it’s usually at private parties where I know the people around me and feel safe.

@RahlyRah: I like to get drunk, but only do a few times a year. I pretty much never get hungover, you just have to drink water and alcohol 1 for 1 and you’ll be fine. Mostly I’m just too frugal to get drunk more often.

I don’t go out with the intention to get drunk anymore. Used every weekend. Now I barely drink and when I do its very few but I have been known to go hard when the planets align and we’re having a fantastic night. Its not as often as it can be very expensive but some of my best memories are of crazy unintentional nights.

I like getting a little tipsy, but not out of control.

I don’t like the feeling being impaired. I’ve never been drunk, but I’ve had some medications that made me out of it and I didn’t like that, so I highly doubt I’ll like getting drunk.
