    I hate being drunk.

    And I like pugs.

I don’t really like to get wasted anymore, mostly because I feel like there’s no good time to have a bad hangover.  My weekends are precious, I don’t want to spend all day Sunday feeling like crap!  And being hungover on a work day is the worst, my job is bad enough as is without a bunch of nausea and a headache all day that I could have prevented.  My idea of a fun night these days is staying home with DH and my puppies, or going to the casino to play poker (and I never drink when I’m playing poker).

I don’t usually (although on ocassion I do, rarely) drink without the intention of getting drunk. I love being druNK, I’m a lot of fun when I drink, tend to be the life of the party and all that. So I drink socially like once every couple of months and I get really drunk.

I will drink a couple frozen drinks to get buzzed if I’m drinking at home, but I don’t like to get drunk if I’m drinking alone. And I only drink alone like twice a year if that.

But when I drink I have to go somewhere, so I like to go “bar hopping” as some call it with my fiance when I drink. So I’m safe with him there (he doesn’t drink anymore) he’s the DD and if by some crazy chance he decides to drink we don’t have to drive somewhere, we can just walk around and eventually get a cab.

Speaking of, I’ll be drinking on Halloween and I’m excited 🙂 It’s been close to three months since I drank at all so it will be nice.

Oh and as far as hangovers are concerned, I know it doesn’t work for all people but after a long horribly wasted night my fiance taught me a trick.

I had more than I should have one night, way more, I usually know my limit but that night I didn’t have a clue. Needless to say it ended up being a horribly rough night for me. When we got home fi made me eat a bunch of food and drink three bottles of water before bed. I woke up the next morning feeling better than I did the morning after much less drunken nights

It doesn’t work all the time (and I am more careful with my drinking since that night) but food and water really really help avoid hangovers from the night before
