@Nicoley1985:  I’ve never used a CHI, but I have a Remington and LOVE it!

YES YES YES!  I am a very happy, long-time CHI user (over 5 years- no problems!)  I have even sold my sister and mother- both super duper curly girls on them.  None of use would ever go back.  It was a great investment if you straighten your hair every day.

LOVE my chi! I’ve had it for about 5 or 6 years.

My straightener is from walmart. I have people at salons gush over my hair. I don’t need to spend $100 to look fabulous! ๐Ÿ˜‰

@KallahinBaltimore:  If your hair is very curly & coarse I would get the chi though. Because my hair is very thin & not curly to start with. lol

I have an FHI, and it’s amazing. It’s like a CHI, but cheaper. I have had mine for 4 years so far, and it’s still awesome. If you’re black and straighten every day, you can definitely justify a $100 flat iron. ๐Ÿ™‚

I had the chi and wasn’t that impressed.   I know have a bio ionic ismooth and it is 100x better. http://www.bioionic.com/gallery/itools/straightiron15

i think it might be a bit more expensive…I bought this straightner about 6 years ago and it’s still working perfectly

I have extremely thick extremely CURLY hair that would not stay straight for anything else…  I purchased a CHI and it WORKS for me!  I love it!  ๐Ÿ™‚ If you do not have extremely curly hair I would say shop around tho, you never know what else you can find.

I had a chi I bought from my hair salon a few years ago and it worked amazing! Idropped it and broke it so I bought another one last year and I’ve heard chi’s are made in china now and aren’t as good of quality. Which i agree. The one i have now doesn’t work as good or make my hair as smooth as the original one I had. Also don’t buy a chi off of amazon their fake and destroy your hair. I would only buy one from a salon.

I am AA (and natural) and use a Sedu. It was expensive, but works very well. I’ve heard good things about the Maxiglide, too.

I haven’t straightened my hair in over a year, though, so I’m having some trouble justidying the expense now ๐Ÿ™‚

A CHI is not a great idea if you dye your hair or it’s damaged….mine made my hair break like crazy bc there’s no temperature control.

I had a CHI for years and it recently broke. My mom had just purchased another flat iron.  It’s a Cortex International iron (the ones they sell in the mall).  And it’s honestly the best I’ve had.  I spent 50 CAD on mine because I found it in a discount store.  She paid 75 USD fo hers!
