I love my job, sometimes not so much the company.

I really like most of the people I work with, but I could do without the actual work part haha. I’m an engineer.

I have a love/hate relationship with my job. I can’t see myself doing anything other than what I do, but it’s very demanding/time consuming, and I spend ALOT of my time [mostly in the summer] working on it. I’m also very good at what I do, and have had numerous other companies offer me a position.

My title is technically General Operations Manager, but I do everything from working in our corporate office [book keeping, taxes, collecting payments], marketing, selling property, renovations… right down to creating all of the events for the year/booking entertainment. I’m trained to do anything in our company, and in the past I have done anything

It’s normal for me to work 6 days a week, 13 or more hours a day in the summer, which can really take a toll on my social life.

It’s also a smaller business [well, the business itself is quite large and we cater to hundreds of people daily], with only 30-sum staff members. Because of this, I don’t make as much money as I might if I left to pursue a similiar job elsewhere.

But, all in all, I really enjoy the people I work with, and I really enjoy my boss [the owner of the company]. He’s taught me SO much about businesses, put me through business management classes, and has never shy’d away from letting me do my own thing. [He’s a very successful man, and in his lifetime has been a part of over 100 companies, although, most of them he has sold as he is getting close to retiring].

I meet hundreds on people on a daily basis, and I really love doing what I can to make their stay with us wonderful. I really love it when they return, or call after their stay and ask to speak directly to me!

@babygal786:  I love my job most days.  There are times like this week when EVERYONE tests my patience but I don’t mind going to work daily.  I have one co-worker that I can’t stand but she’s going to retire in the next few years so I just tolerate her until then.

I LOVE my co-workers (well, except for one) and I LOVE the mission of the organization and the work our staff does.

My role (administrative/development) can sometimes be a little tedious, especially because I’m in charge of data and right now, it’s basically all I’m doing (yay end of the year data). I’ve started doing some grant writing, which I like a lot more though, so I guess it just depends on the day.

@Pinkmoon:  I’m the exact same way. I don’t always love what I’m actually doing but the people here are super nice and there are so many other perks to my job that I do love my job.

I love my job and love the company I work for. I know that I’ll never make as much money here as I could somewhere else, being that its a small family business, but my happiness is more important than making tons of money

@babygal786:  I do and I don’t. I do love my job, but sometimes certain people make me want to bash their heads in (not literally) and so when those people are around I hate my job.

I’m a bartender at a local pub kinda bar. I like people, I like talking to people and being social and being in charge of myself. There’s one guy at work that I hate, my shift starts at 6 pm and he refuses to give me the bar at 6 pm and change the drawer over. It’s always 6:45-7 pm before he’ll do it. He’s the only PITA who does this. I lose tips and I can’t figure out why I should be there at 6 pm when he won’t let me have the bar anyway. So I hate my job until he leaves. And there are those few asshole customers who don’t know when enough is enough and sit there arguing with you because you won’t serve them anymore beer. They make me hate my job. But when that one guy leaves and there are no asshole customers, then I love my job. 🙂

@babygal786:  I love writing and content strategy. Even if I was rich, I’d still be involved in this work but I’d be a lot more selective about my projects. So, I suppose I love what I do but I don’t love working. It’s a means to an end – I need to work to live. If I didn’t, I wouldn’t. The money is good and I can’t complain too much, but there’s lots (and lots) of stuff I’d rather be doing.

I think to classify it as “love” it would have to be something I would do even if I wasn’t getting paid for it. So, with that in mind, I do not “love” my career. But I really, really like it. I get a lot of satisfaction and mental stimulation from the work that I do, I enjoy my colleagues, I enjoy my flexible work schedule, I am appropriately compensated, etc. As careers go, mine is a great fit for me and I intend to stay for a long time to come.

No, but I enjoy the people I work with and I like my bosses.  There are aspects I don’t like, but mostly what I do now is tedious, repetitive, and boring.  I’m switching to a new job in a couple weeks that will be more challenging though, and I hope I’ll like it better!  I also hope I can make some friends at my new office because friends make work much more tolerable. 🙂

I don’t love my job. It’s not exciting and very repetitious. But I do love my friends here. I also love my new boss, when I was promoted I got a new boss. My old boss was the devil reincarnated who made my life a living hell.
