So Dear Fiance and I are registering for things, and this includes a fancy sheet/duvay cover set, complete with multiple pillows that you pile on the bed once it’s completely made.
Now, I am a VERY practical person, and so I am wondering from those who already either married or share a house with SO– how often do you make the master bed? When people come over? Or how often do all those fancy pillows sit in a pile on the floor? Who really uses all those pillows (besides hotel rooms, when we just throw them off and onto the floor!) So why do they sell them? Should we register for them?

We make the bed every morning.
Fiance actually does it more than I do. I’m more particular, but he learned my way pretty quickly. I think he likes doing it because I make such a big deal about how nice it looks and how awesome he is every morning…even if it’s not exactly how I do it. 🙂
I am NOT a fan of piles of pillows. I think they look a silly, especially in small rooms. We have 2 shams, 2 standard pillows (our sleeping pillows), and 2 monogramed pillows.

I can say that during the week we dont make it up too often… Sometimes if I get home and pic up or if im doing laundry I will make it with pillows and all. But always on sat and sunday morning because we are there more and we have people come by we want it to look nice.
Edit- we have 2 sleeping pillows, 2 shams and about 3 through pillows that just match and look pretty 🙂 I understand some people not liking them but little things like that make me happy lol

Personally, no. But that’s because Fiance is unemployed right now and he sleeps in longer than I do. If I were the last one awake, then yes, the bed would get made all fancy.
Do you two make your bed right now?

when I wasn’t working in the summer (I’m a teacher) I made it every single day. Now that I’m teaching… I make it a lot less, but it gets made on the weekends. It’s nice to have the fancy pillows (although I agree that less is more) so that when guests come over if they happen to peek in everything looks really nice. Definitely not a waste!

We never make our bed but this is the reason, My fiance works 3rd shift and I work 1st shift so someone is always in the bed and it can’t be made.

Fiance and I hardly ever made our bed in the mornings. We’re the only ones to see it.
Although, when we first moved in together and bought new bedding, I was making it all the time. I just got lazy after a couple of months…boo!

We make our bed every morning without fail – we actually do it before we ever leave the bedroom in the morning. Fiance leaves for work much earlier than I so I usually do it during the week but on weekends we either do it together (my fave) or one of us will do it whilst the other one is making tea. We don’t have many throw pillows because they annoy us but even if we did, they’d be on the bed every day. We just can’t stand any mess and there is nothing better than walking into a clean bedroom every evening with a freshly made bed.

We make the bed every single day. The last person to get out of bed makes it.
I was never a throw pillow type of person, but when I moved in with Fiance, he would take them all off every night and put them all back on each morning. I always joke that he’s like the Ben Stiller character in Along Came Polly.

Never. we in fact sleep with two different comforters because he likes to roll up in a cocoon. I now like having my own blanket.

I try to make the bed every day, but sometimes I’m in a rush or wake up late so it doesn’t get done in the morning. Darling Husband NEVER makes the bed unless he’s helping me. We have about 6 pillows on the bed and I don’t like leaving them on the floor because they can get covered in dog hair. I never have guest over without the bed being made.

We make the bed but I hate putting pillows on. Less is more, IMO. They just end up on the floor on hubby’s side anyway.

@napabridekelsey:Neither of us do regularly. Only once in a while. I wonder if we got the extra throw pillows, if it would motivate us to make the bed more, or just frustrate us that they were on the floor all the time!

@Jeannine @ Small Chic: Wow, is that your bedroom? It’s gorgeous! I absolutely love that color scheme – nice job! 🙂

We make the bed every day. We let it air out while we have coffee then one of us makes it.
I love the look of it when it is made but I also love sliding into taut, crisp sheets when I get into bed at night instead of getting into a wrinkly mess.
But then again, I’m also the person who has 4 or 5 complete bed sets including sheet sets, cases, duvet covers and accent throws, because I like to change the bedding seasonally.
We have 2 European pllows in shams, 2 reg shams , and 2 ordinary pillows.
