I know I tried asking my venue if they could lower it slightly to X amount and they refused. However, with all my other vendors (especially those that owned the business), I did get multiple quotes then went to the one I really wanted and asked if they could lower or beat the lowest quote and most of them did!

You don’t get if you don’t ask!!

girl9394:  You can try, but I found a lot of venues in this area were really really strict on their prices unless you go off season or an off day.  There’s so much demand that they don’t usually have trouble getting people to pay.

I got my venue to take 1000.00 off by negotiating on specials I had seen in the past. Ifigured if they did it before they can do it again. I also pitted them against each other to get some conditions changed like length and alcohol rules. Worst anyone can say is “no…” so its worth a try!

I got our venue to save us a few thousand by lowering the site fee and throwing in some freebies. It never hurts to ask. We asked for some specific things and the venue gave us some of those and told us other things they could do instead of others.

One of our potential venue’s is foregoing the ceremony fee, the ohter wont budge so much!

At the end of the day it doesn’t hurt to ask!? The worst they can say is no and you are back at square one.. no harm no foul!

With my venue I negotiated different prices based on food options and what was included in the package like alcohol.

Hi – we were able to negotiate the food/beverage minimum down about $7k for a Saturday night wedding in Boston.  My thoughts on it are that if you don’t ask you won’t receive!  We would have never been able to afford the original minimum for a saturday night in Boston at this venue – and because we asked and were up front and honest about our budget, we are getting married at an amazing venue!
