@MrsBananas:  Now that I think of it, for some reason our lab loves to poop in the water!  It’s disgusting.  We try to pick it up, but it’s near impossible.

If we’re out at the park or on a walk, definitely always, I just bring the bags with me.

At home in our yard, poop is completely FI’s territory, lol.

We live in a neighborhood where several people just let their dogs run wild. Yesterday my dog was lying on the floor in the living room and suddenly sat up and started whining. This is my clue to look outside and yell at whatever random dog is pooping in our yard. Sigh. The problem is, I have no idea who these dogs belong to because even though most of them have collars, none of them have tags. It’s really annoying, I would sure like to make some poop deliveries! lol

If we’re out walking I pick it up every time.

I did once chase a kid down because I was sitting on my porch one evening and he came walking with his lab and his dog crapped in my yard. I think he was hoping I would think it was my dogs. I went out, picked it up and chased him down the street and handed him the bag and told him he forgot something. He wasn’t thrilled.

I always scoop my dog’s poop.

A few years ago in our neighbourhood there was a dog owner who picked up their dog’s poop in a bag and then would throw the bags all over different lawns. A couple weeks later all the poop bags (like 30 of them) were piled on the sidewalk with a sign saying “pick up the poop or I’m installing cameras”. It was really funny since we had seen these random bags of poop for weeks.

I let my dogs off their leash to poop and once in a blue moon I look everywhere and can’t find th damn poop but that’s like 4% of the time! One of my neighbors lets their dog take a big poop in front of our house all the time.. We have poop bags within 20 feet… Ugh

I don’t have a dog now, but I grew up with dogs, and the answer is ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS! It’s part of your responsibility as a pet owner, and it’s so rude not to. Stepping in dog shit can ruin someone’s day (and shoes).

I voted “never” BUT that’s because Fiance is the poop picker upper. He’s the one that picks it up! Which he does 99% of the time. About the only time he doesn’t is if we’re out in the wild and the dogs poop well off the beaten path. There’s bear poop all over the path, dog poop off in the bushes isn’t going to be any worse….

On the rare occasion that I do take the dogs for a walk alone (basically when Fiance is out of town) then I do pick up the poop….

I’m the bitch that stares at you while you’re dog shits. Then when I walk by you I constantly look back at you, making sure you pick up your shit. Then when you walk away- I say “you’re going to just get a shit bag and pick it up right?” *silence* “it’s ok, here’s a bag…”

Yeah, I’m THAT girl. Guess how often I’m that girl? A LOT, because it happens A LOT. I have even had to stand there and tell my dog to stay and watch a human walk back, search out the pile of shit, wait for them to pick it up and follow them to the trash can.

I voted Always. My dog doesn’t poop unless I take her outside to walk haha

Unless I don’t have a bag on me, in which case I run inside my apartment and grab one and go back and pick it up. If my dog gets sick, then I try my best to get what I can, but theres only so much you can do.

@MrsPanda99:  I always pick up after my dog. I live in a large apartment complex, and lots of other people don’t, especially in the winter!

My dog is such a princess that I can’t her out where all of the other people take their pups, because even SHE is grossed out by the mess people leave behind.

@MrsPanda99:  Of course! I don’t understand the sort of person who LEAVES poop in a public place. Like it’s not their problem. It’s your dog, pick that shit up, literally. If someone didn’t want to pick up poop that person should not have gotten a dog!!!

I don’t really care what people do with their own yard but I can’t imagine it’s pleasant to have a yard full of poo. And if it’s in a place where there is 0% chance of human interaction with the poo (in some dense bushes or something) I guess who cares. But people who leave their dog’s poo in sight/smell/reach of other people are awful!!

@mnp:  HA That’s awesome, I am fully in favor of that.

Ugh, people who leave dog poop out are thoughtless, disgusting assholes. I always want to pick it up for them, follow them home, then smear it all over their doorknobs. Bastards. Some idiot let his/her dog poor ON THE SIDEWALK by the mailboxes in our apartment complex. I didn’t see it because I was picking up my own dog’s little gift. As I was tying up the bag, I slipped and sprained my ankle – bad. It was so painful that I thought I had broken it. My ankle took weeks to fully recover.

Funny sidestory: Darling Husband was with us at the time and checking the mail. He saw me go down and yelled, “Oh shit!” When I looked around and saw that I had slipped on dogshit, I wanted to laugh at the irony but was only able to moan.

I live in a city. I absolutely always pick up his poop. If I forget to refill my bag holder I will find another bag- one use for all the trash littered about- or ask. It is part of owning a dog. Even if it is tiny or the weather is crappy.

@mamadingdong:  Exactly.  Some of the excuses on here as to why it isn’t picked up are ridiculous!
