I save although I am not opposed to putting it on a card first.  I think experiences away from work are the best investments to one’s sanity.  And BOY can I use one right now.

we save up the money beforehand. We actually never buy anything that would require saving after the purchase. We put it on our credit card to get the points but pay it all off before the end of the month

We don’t carry balances on our credit cards, so if we’re booking a trip, we save the money beforehand. I’d really hate to pay interest on a vacation. If the trip is booked on our credit card, it’s paid off at the end of the billing cycle.

We might put it on our credit card, but we wouldn’t take a trip unless we had the money in the bank.

We save but put everything on a credit card for points.

we save up so we dont have to regret the expense and interest later. Or wish we spent it on something else.

We always save first. We might book something on our credit cards but we always make sure we can cover that amount within a few days. A lot of my friends went into debt over their weddings and honeymoons. That’s just not how we want to start a marriage. Money is a big stressor.

in the past we typically use our taxes for our big vacation each year so we normally have the cash but usually pay on a card for points then pay it off.

I think the only trip we took that wasn’t paid off right away and put on the card was our honeymoon but it was by far the most expensive vacation i’ve ever been on. We usd a lot of our wedding money and some taxes to pay it back rather quickly in full.

We save beforehand.  Fiance doesn’t have any ccards and I am working to pay mine off so there is no way I would incur more debt to pay interest on 🙂

Cash only.  If we don’t have the money for it, we don’t get to go.  That said, we keep a pretty good running savings account and haven’t had to say no to anything that we really wanted to do other than our trip to the UK but it’s going to tap us out for a year or two so we’re putitng it off until after the wedding.

It doesn’t matter what it is, we never buy anything unless we have cash to pay for it right now. Okay, with the exception of a house.
