This is obviously for Bees who are taking their SO’s name. Do you practice your “new” signature before the big change? Guilty confession: I do it all. the. time. It’s almost an absentminded thing at this point. I can’t get it to look “right”, though. It doesn’t help that I’ve been told I have a doctor’s signature, lol. So it’s a mess already. I guess with time it’ll feel more natural. Any similar experiences?

Yes I do! I have neat handwriting but a messy signature. I am trying to keep my new signature neat though.

I have tried it a few times but Its so hard that I just give up! I dont know how I’m going to get through this change lol

Yes! I know exactly what you mean – I cant get mine to look or flow “right” either!

I heard it was bad luck to do it before you’re married, so I waited to practice until we were actually married. Silly, I know, but I had practiced while dating other guys and it never worked out and I didn’t practice with Darling Husband and now we’re married lol…

I’m very guilty of this. I love my new name!

I do this all the time when I’m bored at work. I just got good at my own signature, so it’s going to be hard to change it! Espcially since I can’t find a really pretty way to write a cursive D.

I don’t, but I should. My handwriting is so terrible that I need the practice anyway, hehe.

Oh my signature is a straight up mess. And not a cool, Jackson Pollock-esque scribble, or a neat “I don’t have time to give you anything but this interesting looking scrawl”, but like a third grader still learning cursive for the first time 🙁 I have VERY neat handwriting, but my cursive… ugh.
But yes I like to play around with my future last name 😛

I do, and mine is terrible!!
I’m petrified that when I’m actually married and have legally changed my name that I’m going to sign some important form or check or something incorrectly and look like a doofus and/or a criminal! Haha.

I have! Although I can definitely see myself using the wrong one at some point along the line!

I haven’t yet, and as a nurse I sign my signature like a million times a day on official documents. It’on gonna be a serious challenge! Ahhhhh!
I’ve been married for 3 weeks, and have yet to try it, It’s not like I can actually sign it until my name is changed anyway, so thats another 2 -3 months , but it might be an idea to start practicing….I’m in nursing as well, so it’s going to be interesting

Oh.My.Gosh yes!! All the time! And our housekeeper/janitor at my work is SUPER nosey, so I have to try to find creative ways to hide it in my trash when I throw away my practice sheets otherwise I know she will make a comment out of it and I’ll get embarrassed haha!

@SweetMelissa429: My biggest fear is someone catching me doing it. It’s so grade-school crush to write your name over and over.
