I see no reason why I can’t socialize and procrastinate simultaneously.

In fact, I am doing exactly that right now Laughing

@JoJoDahling:  It’s for my Music Ed class (why it’s required for regular ECE majors, I’ll never understand…) so I have to teach a 10 minute music lesson. It’s pretty simple, but I have no desire whatsoever to do it.

Early Childhood Education. I’m going to be a general classroom teacher, somewhere in Pre-K through 5th.

We have all sorts of weird classes… Like FOUR maths (plus 2 Gen Ed ones). I don’t know why I need four classes to teach me how to teach elementary school math.

@JoJoDahling:  I don’t see why I need a music class when I’m not going to be a music teacher. It’s technically supposed to be “how to incorporate music into the classroom”, but in reality it makes me feel like I’m in elementary school again.

I had to take 6 maths: College Algebra and Statistics for my Core/Gen Ed, then I have those 4 “Math for Elementary Ed Majors” classes, plus 4 total sciences, 5 lit and english classes, and a whole bunch of other classes like Theater Appreciation, Philosophy, 2 Histories, 2 Psychologies, and several pedagogy (teaching style) classes… all in 3 years because we spend our last full year preparing to student teach for one semester and then student teaching the last.

I’m in my third year and I’m exhausted.

    All the freaking time.

I just took a computer modeling course at work this past week and since my degree is in the stuff he was describing, a lot of it was repeat to me. So… I was on my phone a lot.
