WB has a great selection of current blogging Bee’s, but I’ve been fishing through some of the older posts & I have to say there are a ton of amazing weddings out there! It’s a shame that so many of these weddings get “lost”.
Mrs. Pumpkin had the cutest pink paper products throughout her wedding. Mrs. Gloss had a beautiful nautical themed wedding- I love her invitation suite! Mrs. Milkshake had the most personalized guest book I’ve ever seen. Mrs. Lemon- well she’s the reigning queen of Out of Town bags. Mrs. Cherry Pie had some yummy food & beautiful rustic touches. Mrs. Seabreeze had the best reception game- ever!
I guess I’m just trying to encourage everyone to check out some of the older blogs! This place is a goldmine & there’s literally something for everyone 🙂
So are you reading these older posts? If so, who have you found to be the most inspirational to you?

I think it would be fun to have something like a “Flashback Friday” every week, where an old blog post from one of the previous/archived generations would be featured, with a link at the bottom to “Read more from Mrs. Lemon” or whoever (which would go to their list of posts).

We used to run a regular feature called One Year Ago where we featured interesting posts from a year ago:
http://www.weddingbee.com/author/one-year-ago/
We also had a feature called DIY Rewind, where we featured older posts about diy:
http://www.weddingbee.com/2009/01/02/boxed-invitations-2/
But neither feature was that popular and they were a lot of work… so we put them on hiatus.

I love reading about the older Bee generations. Mrs LoveBug had a beautiful reception and Mrs Cupcake’s invites were total inspiration for mine! I’m trying to slowly work my way though all the Bee’s older blogs but it could take a while!

I remember the One Year Ago feature, but maybe people weren’t drawn in by the list of links? I know when I first got engaged, I read a ton of the archived stuff, and I know with the site improvements, it’s much easier to do that now (instead of just scrolling back to page 100+ 🙂 ) I would just hate for the new hive members to not find posts like the ones about Mrs. Cupcake’s invitations and Mrs. Seabreeze’s TTD shoot.

If you have ideas on how we might feature content from older bees, we’d love to hear them! You can share them here, or submit them to the ideas forum:
http://ideas.weddingbee.com
On the subject of featuring older posts… we’ve had a lot of luck generating click to older posts using the Related Posts module we added to every page. 🙂 Do those ever catch your eye (and hopefully your clicks)?

I have been slowly reading through the old blogs and I think the current set up is great! It helps when current bees post links to old blog posts with inspiration but I think it is really easy to find on it’s own (and I really like being able to see their location)

I enjoy reading back through older posts. I will admit that I used to just pick a bee and start from their beginning, but then I would get upset when there were no recaps to see the final products in actions. So now I get to see if there are recaps before going back to the beginning.

Initially, I found the Bees that had held their weddings in Pittsburgh and read all of them from day 1. But then, I started getting interested in other Bees, when they’d be referenced in current Bees’ posts. While I most definitely have not gone through them all, I’ve probably read about 10 of them in their entirety. And bookmarked a bunch of entries, which was pointless since my laptop was stolen. Meh.

@msmonica: You totally should check it out! These ladies have tons & tons of great ideas. I actually got into their blogs by looking at photos in the WB Gallery first! If I saw something I’d like, I’d start reading their blogs!
@llc: I know what you mean! It’s sad when there aren’t any recaps after you’ve followed a Bee for so long…

Reading older Bees entire blog was kind of how I fell in love with the site to begin with. I didn’t understand that new blogs were being updated everyday right away. I spent hours reading every post that Lovebug, Cherrypie, and Cupcake had written. Their weddings were so different, but all so incredibly awesome. I love reading the older Bees posts because everything is now done, so you don’t have to wait!

I have difinitely read the posts from the older bees. Like Miss Britt, it was one of the reasons I originally joined and now love this site.

@ scissors – that me too!!!!
I will admit, if I am not crazy about colors or certain venues or certain themes I don’t review the details, i skip to the next Bee. I know that isn’t too kosher!!! I have found some reall great ideas – per Mrs Cowboy Boot’s pie bar, I thought that couldn’t be more perfect for a Seattle wedding. We are known for Marionberry and before moving here I had never heard of it…..
