- Wedding: May 2015 - The beach.
My Fiance and I are not super crazy about having a traditional wedding. We are hoping to get married and honeymoon in St. Lucia.
Since we probably won’t have anyone come to the wedding, I feel like I shouldn’t be expecting a bridal shower or even a bachelorette party.
I know the whole point of the parties is to recieve gifts and all that, but my Fiance and I already bought a house before our engagement and I think we have everything we need.
Has anyone on here been through my situation? Have you eloped or had a small wedding with no bridal shower or bachelorette party?
Do you deeply regret it?

pixelpisces: I had one, but it was small (bridesmaid, immediate female family, and a few close friends). I really could have cared less about having one. In fact, I really didn’t want one – but a family member insisted and so I got one in the end. My Mother-In-Law did throw one in DH’s hometown, which consisted of all their relatives. It was nice, but quite honestly, I could have done without that one too.

I personally find showers in general to be pretty boring, so I skipped having one (didn’t feel like subjecting my friends to it lol). My girls and I did a small dinner get together and my groom and I had a joint game night “bachelor” party, but again, having a bachelorette party wasn’t something I was interested in. I have no regrets.
